B What Makes Up a Circuit?

Things that run on electricity have circuits.

What are the parts of a circuit?
battery

wire
bulb

• A simple circuit has a battery, a bulb and wires.

• The wires connect the bulb to the battery.

B What Makes Up a Circuit?

Why does the bulb light up?

• The circuit forms a complete loop.

• Electricity flows through the circuit, so the bulb lights up.

B What Makes Up a Circuit?

• We can add a switch to a circuit.

• We need to close the switch for electricity to flow through a circuit.
