Assessment title Abr.
Project Week - Reflection PORT1
Pass marks are 40% for undergraduate work unless stated otherwise.
Task/assessment brief:
This module is designed to support you to becoming students of higher education and to be successful
on your journey. PORT 2 enables you to apply your learning from this module, and the others you have
been taught this year, into a group project and reflection.
Project Week will take place w/c 29th April and you will be working on a brief related to your programme
of study. Friday 3rd May will be an ‘Expo’ day, where you can demonstrate or showcase your group work
to the wider school.
This assessment is designed to enable you to reflect on the project week, to produce a portfolio of work
that shows the work you achieved during the week and asks you to reflect on the process of teamwork,
problem solving, communication, motivation and resilience throughout the project.
1. Overview of the project and outcome (1000-word count equivalent – i.e. this might not be
1000 words but would be the equivalent to this through other materials such as video or
visuals. You should focus more on the depth of information, rather than the words) 50%
A detailed explanation of the project, using images, video content and any other media that can
communicate the nature and outcome of the project. (This could be a mini documentary of the
week, or a journal showing images of the activities and outcome. Suitable formats can be
discussed with your Programme Director or Module Leader).
This a reflection of the effort required for the assessment. Word counts will normally include any text,
tables, calculations, figures, subtitles and citations. Reference lists and contents of appendices are
excluded from the word count. Contents of appendices are not usually considered when determining your
final assessment grade.

Learning Outcomes
2. Identify and develop digital skills in key areas to reflect industry practice.
4. Develop skills in reflective learning and writing and explain its role in developing professional
and academic practice.
5. Identify and explain the key professional concepts specific to their chosen profession including
career pathways, practice, future roles and current challenges.
This module is designed to enable students to develop confidence in academic and professional
competencies. It embeds available institutional platforms for digital and professional skills, as well as
creating a sense of connection between modules to create a cohesive learning journey. The module
focuses on the “orientation of students to increase social and academic engagement, 'connectedness' to
university, sense of direction and future career” (Beder, 1997)
It offers an opportunity to appreciate the contemporary issues affecting the working environment and
understand the need for reflective learning and professional development as relevant for their chosen
programme.
