By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to
1. Demonstrate appreciation through non-verbal responses to i) simple chants and raps ii) simple
rhymes iii) simple action songs iv) simple songs
2. Understand with support the main idea of simple sentences
LEARNING OUTLINE
Pre-lesson:
Talk about ‘A Very Hungry Caterpillar’.
Lesson development:-
1. Pupils watch ‘How to make a caterpillar’ video.
2. Ask pupils if their understanding how to make a caterpillar origami. (HOTS)
3. Repeat the video and encourage pupils to remember the step.
4. Teacher show how to make the origami step by step.
5. Pupils try to make their origami individually. (CBA)
Post-lesson:-
Pupils show their origami and play in their group. (21st CA)
REFLECTION

18 / 22 pupils can achieve the learning objectives.


14 / 18 pupilss can complete the exercises given.
4 / 18 pupils need further exercise and teacher guidance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Describe people and objects using suitable words and phrases
2. Recognise and reproduce with support a limited range of high frequency target language
phonemes
LEARNING OUTLINE
Pre-lesson:
Pupils do a recap on characters from the units.
Lesson development:-
1. Play the chant or song and have pupils mime the action. You can choose use one of: (21st CA)

2. Encourage pupils to sing/chant along on the second listening.
3. Ask pupils to look at Part A on the worksheet. They should read the sentences and write Yes if they are correct and No if they are not.
Answers: (HOTS) 1. Yes; 2. No; 3. Yes; 4. No; 5. No
4. Draw pupils’ attention to the grammar explanation on the worksheet. Build some model sentences to show pupils how to form the
present continuous.
5. Ask them to rewrite the sentences so they are all correct in Part B on the worksheet. Check answers as a class or in pairs/groups.
6. Use cards to review the question forms.
7. Ask pupils to complete the questions in Part C. They relate to Part A of the worksheet. Check answers as a class or in pairs/groups.
Post-lesson:-
Ask pupils to think about what they have learned in Unit 3 and how well they feel they know
the language now. They should complete the How did I do in Unit 3? Self-assessment section
of the worksheet. Collect the worksheets from pupils and review them to note pupils’
performance. (CBA)
