SIMPLE PAST (PASADO SIMPLE)

Repaso de estructuras:

AFIRMATIVO: Los verbos deben cambiarse a pasado (2° columna) o agregarles terminación d
o ed.

Ana bought a ball. (buy)

(Ana compró una pelota)

They played football. (play)

(Ellos jugaron al fútbol)

A los verbos que no aparecen en la lista de verbos, le agregamos d o ed. Recordar


terminación:

Study cambia a studied (verbo terminado en y precedida por consonante, pierde la y y agrega
ied).

NEGATIVO: Para negar usamos el didn't y el verbo queda en infinitivo (1° columna).

Ana didn't buy a ball. (not/ buy)

(Ana no compró una pelota)

They didn't play football. (not/ play)


1° columna
(Ellos no jugaron al fútbol)

INTERROGATIVO: Comenzamos la pregunta con el Did, luego la persona, seguimos con el


verbo en infinitivo (1° columna) y finalizamos con el resto…?

Did Ana buy a ball?

(¿Compró Ana una pelota?)

Did they play football?


(1° columna)

(¿Jugaron ellos al fútbol?)

PASADO DEL VERBO TO BE (SER/ ESTAR)

WAS (era/ estaba). Se usa para I/ He/ She/ It

WERE (eran/ estaban/ éramos/ estábamos). Se usa para We/ You / They.

Was es singular y Were es plural.

AFIRMATIVO:

Juan was in the park.

NEGATIVO:

Juan was not/


wasn't in the park.

Recordar: Were not se abrevia weren't.

INTERROGATIVO:

Was Juan in the park?

4) COMPLETE WITH WAS/ WERE:

3. The children …… at home.
