Air Handling Unit (AHU) System: Scope
Air Handling Unit (AHU) System: Scope
Scope:
To cover the requirements to be met by the Clean room as per ISO14644-1 for processing of
Materials that is coming in direct contact with environmental air. The scope of this system
shall be limited to design/ supply/ installation/ commissioning/validation (IQ & OQ) and
handover of the following constituents of the system within the room:
• Systems and Accessories
• Necessary Instruments of the System
• Necessary ducting of the System
• Necessary Control system of the System
The complete system shall be designed as per current relevant standards, agreed technical
specification and User requirement specifications to comply with the clients requirement.
Technical specifications of all the equipment, instruments, valves etc. are as per the offer, the
Purchase Order, and the client’s Requirements.
Training on the system to be provided to operation staffs those are involved in AHU system
The requirement of Air supplied to clean room of Grade D/Class 8 would be fulfilled as per
regulatory norms of ISO14644-1
1. Air supplied shall be of Terminal HEPA .
2. Temperature NMT 25℃ and RH NMT 65%
3. Differential pressure NLT 10 pascals
To achieve this AHU shall be designed based on room data sheet such as room volume, room
area, heat load,no.of personnel at any point of time
AHU provided shall be double skinned PUF material with air blower and cooling coil with
outdoor unit for cooling. Provision shall be made for hot water circulation to control RH.
10% of fresh air shall be used along with 90% of recirculated air that passes through 20
micron filter followed by 10 micron and 5 micron filter before it is fed through HEPA filter
of 0.3 Micron with the 99.997 filter efficiency.
The supply and return air duct shall be provide with volume damper to control pressure inside
the room.
Pressure gauge shall be provided between 10 micron,5 micron and HEPA filter to monitor
chocking of filters.
1. Ensure the blower motor and fan is checked periodically as per preventive maintenance
programme to ensure that is working efficiently.
2. The reading of pressure gauge is recorded daily to identify the chocking of filters
3. The pre filter(20 micron),coarse filter(10 micron and Fine filter(5 micron) are cleaned at
regular frequency to ensure room differential pressure as per designed specification.
4. Volume dampers are checked periodically for their smooth functioning.
5. The Fan motor belt are maintained good state of repair for optimum performance.
