INSTALLATION
Remove the Interior Assembly
It is recommended that the interior assembly be removed from the relay panel
before mounting the relay panel. To remove the interior assembly, do the
following:
1. Unscrew the screws securing the Class 1 wiring cover plate(s) to the relay
panel.
2. Remove the Class 1 wiring cover plate(s) to reveal the screws securing the
interior assembly to the relay panel.
3. Unscrew the screws securing the interior assembly to the relay panel.
4. Remove the interior assembly from the relay panel.
5. Proceed to the mounting instructions for the relay panel.

Mounting the 8 or 16 Relay Capacity Panels

1. Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working inside the relay
panel
2. Use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that power is off,
and follow all lockout/tagout procedures.
3. Remove the appropriate knockouts for the wiring.
4. Position the relay panel in the location it will be mounted.
5. Screw the mounting bolts through the mounting holes and into the wall.
6. Attach the interior assembly to the inside of the relay panel using the
screws and washers removed in Remove the Interior Assembly on
page 6.
7. Attach the supply line voltage to the relay panel.

SUPPLY LINE VOLTAGE MUST MATCH POWER SUPPLY

 The relay panel power supply has several options allowing it to operate
with 115 VAC, 240 VAC, 277 VAC, or 347 VAC line voltage. Wire only to
one of these terminals.
Failure to follow these instructions can damage the power supply and
relay panel and void the product warranty.
NOTE: The Class 2 control transformers with either 50 or 60 Hz have
internal over-current protection.

8. Replace the Class 1 wiring cover plate(s) to the interior assembly.

Mounting the 32 or 64 Relay Capacity Panels

1. Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working inside the relay
panel
2. Use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that power is off,
and follow all lockout/tagout procedures.
3. Remove the appropriate knockouts for the wiring.
4. Use the relay panel dimensions drawing as a reference for measuring the
correct distance between the two keyhole mounting slots.
5. Screw the mounting bolts into the wall based on your measurements in
step 3.
6. Align the keyhole mounting slots on the back of the relay panel to the bolts
in the wall.
7. Slide the relay panel down to secure it to the mounting bolts.
8. Attach the interior assembly onto the inside of the relay panel using the
screws and washers removed in Remove the Interior Assembly
on page 6.
9. Attach the supply line voltage to the relay panel.

Wiring
Connect Load and Line Voltage to Relays
Before making any connections to the relays, perform continuity tests to verify
load circuits are not shorted.
1. Wire the conductors from the circuit breaker through each relay's output
terminals and then from the relay terminals to the loads.
2. Torque each relay load terminal to the value specified on the relay.

Low Voltage (Class 2) Wiring

The low voltage (Class 2) wiring section of the relay panel provides terminal
connections for a variety of optional switches and other devices. Individual
relays can be controlled from a switch or sensor that is hardwired to the
corresponding connector on the relay controller card. More than one relay can
be grouped into a group channel on the relay controller card and controlled
from a single switch or sensor. Up to eight groups are supported with a single
relay controller card.
Field Programmable Control Cards
Field programmable relay panels have the SERPTC411 controller card
installed. The figures below show typical wiring configurations for
the SERPTC411.

Power and Test Relays

HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH

 Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe
electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E.
 Do NOT apply power to the controlled circuit loads while testing the
relays.
 This equipment must be installed and serviced by qualified electrical
personnel.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.

Do NOT apply power to the controlled circuit loads while testing the relays.

1. Apply power to the lighting control panel's control transformer only (see
Description on page 2).
2. Locate the manual relay control devices on the relay. Activate the manual
relay control devices by switching the relay switch ON and OFF. The relay
will click and change state. The activator device will change from yellow to
red.
3. Confirm the operation of each relay.
4. If all relays work as intended, apply main power to the lighting control
panel.
5. Manually activate each relay ON and OFF again, then confirm that each
relay controls the appropriate load.
