Código Líquidos Químicos
Código Líquidos Químicos
Introduction This edition differs from edition No. 2, in that the appendices No. 1 and 12 have been revised.
The standard covers codes for the media used in the pulp and paper industry.
The media code is made up of a letter which designates the group of media and two digits
which define the media within the media group concerned.
In SSG 7650, recomendations are given for correct choice of material in pipe systems and
associated components.
Scope The list sets out the media groups and gives references to the appendices for the media
groups concerned.
If a code is needed for a media system not covered by the standard, the user can select his
own code until such time as the standard is revised if necessary. Such code should consist of
the letter for the media group in question with the letter X added, plus a suitable combination
of digits, e.g. PX 95
Criteria for A new media code can be motivated when a media data has been changeed i.e. (pH, concen-
new media codes tration of chemicals, pressure, temperature, dryness etc.) and which calls for changing of type
of material. New or changed requirements from authorities, changes of the hazardousness
of the media (Ej F or F) or changing of the function of the media in the process also can
motivate a new media code.
If local specifications are needed or if the media code has to be split into two codes or more,
the code should be followed by a hyphen or an additional figure.
For example: Code W23, Firewater, with the addition -2, could locally mean sprinkler water.
