Questions Oral – Examen Juin 2024

1. How do you like your food?
I like my food the most, when it is well-seasoned. I hate food, without salt or pepper. For me
for having a good dish, you need to add herbs and spices and a good sauce of course.
For example, I prefer a marinated piece of meat with a yummy sauce to a piece of chicken
which is only fried in a pan.
That’s why my favourite dishes as the Asian ones. They always have a variety of tastes. My
favourite ones are dishes with a curry sauce or a sweet and sour sauce.

2. What is a typical dish from your country

I come from Luxembourg, and they have many typical dishes there.
There’s one a traditional Luxembourgish dish which is called Bouneschlupp. It is a soup made
of green beans, potatoes and bacon. The soup is mostly served with crème fraiche or bread.
At home we often it the soup with pancakes and my mom adds some Mettwurscht which is a
traditional Luxembourg sausage.
A typical Luxembourgish dessert is the Quetschentaart which is a tarte made with plums and
cinnamon.
There a many other dishes, but to be honest, I don’t like them very much.

I don’t eat meat very often. I eat it like once a week, even less sometimes. Two years ago, we
decided as a family to reduce the frequency of eating meat.

Yes, I would. I only eat meat on special occasions or when I go the restaurant. We basically

nearly every day, and I didn’t appreciate this very much. So, I don’t miss eating meat.

6. How about eating insects?

I don’t think, I could eat insects, even I am not a picky eater at all. I always taste new kinds of
food and there are only some foods, I don’t like, but eating insects, I find that a little bit
disgusting. I would have to eat the whole animal, like with the bones, the head, and I
wouldn’t like it.
Maybe, one day, I will try it, but not in the near future.

7. Why will it be a challenge to feed people in the future?

I think, there are multiple reasons.
On the first hand, the population continues to rise and won’t stop growing in the coming
years. The world’s population is projected to reach 11 billion by the end of the century. So it
will be complicated to feed as many people.
On the other hand, the climate as well as the climate change have an important impact on
the agriculture. So, the farmers have e more and more difficulties to produce our food.
8. What would be the purpose of eating less meat and more insects?
I would boost the food chain and feed people sustainably. Which would be a great for the
environment and the famine.

9. What are three reasons to eat insects?

There are three main reasons of eating insects.
First, insects are better for your health than meat. There are over 8000 kinds of insects which
are edible. Besides, many of them are packed with proteins calcium, iron, etc and they are
less greasy than beef for example.
Secondly, insects are a far more sustainable source of food than the livestock. The animals on
farms produce more greenhouse-gas emissions than transport. Moreover, raising insects
requires less space and water and they almost eat everything.
Finally, raising insects is very cheap, of even free. And you only need little technology or
investment to produce them.

10. How could insects also be used?

You could extract their protein and use it in other products such as ready meals or pasta
sauces. By doing this, you wouldn’t see them in your plate and the people would never know
that they are eating them.

It depends on, where I am. At school, I usually have a sandwich or banana for lunch. My

home.
Honestly, family dinners are not very important for me. Because they aren’t the only
moments where you can spend time together. At home, my parents as well as me, we all

in the evening when they come home from work. But it doesn’t mean, that we don’t spend
time all together.

18. Are people’s diet in your country getting better or worse?

I think people’s diet in our country are getting worse. There aren’t many people anymore
who pay attention to their diet. In my opinion, a healthy diet cost a lot at not everyone
people can afford it.
In addition, cooking fresh food all day, takes a lot of time, and as far as I know, there are
many people who don’t like cooking or who don’t have any time. So the prefer tu heat up a
ready meal in their microwave and that’s it.
19. Do you sometimes eat comfort food? Explain.
Yes, I do, especially when I’m stressed.

First, I would check if there were any dangers, and next, I would check if the person were
conscious, if she’s breathing or not, if she responds.

where we are.
Afterward, I would wait until the emergency services arrive and if it’s necessary, I would
provide first aid.

21. Do you know the first aid tips?

Yes, I know some of them.
First, you need to check if there are any dangers to ensure safety for both the victim and you.
Next, you must call the emergency services for an ambulance.
There are some basic first aid actions. For example, when someone is bleeding, you have to
apply direct pressure to stop the bleeding. Or when the victim isn’t breathing you have to

23. Imagine you are a doctor, what could you advise your patient?
As general practitioner, I would advise my patient to sleep well, take a lot of fluids and have a
balanced diet. It is very important to take care of your body and ensure a healthy nutrition as
well as exercise regularly.
If my had a virus, I would tell him to take plenty of rest and stay at home for a few days. I
would prescript him some medicine and tell him to take plenty of fluids.

24. Do you think it is possible to live without any money?

Living without money will be possible for some people, but it would be a tough challenge.
But honestly, I couldn’t imagine living without any money. In my opinion, if you want to have
a “normal” lifestyle, you need money to survive.
First, you need money to buy food, clothes and a home, which are basically, the most
important things to have a normal live.
Additionally, I like to travel, which is impossible without money, and I also want to have a
certain level of comfort in my life.

25. Do you own a lot of things?

No, I don’t think so. I own some clothes but not that much. I don’t have dressing room for
example, just a small wardrobe in my room. I have some decorations, like plants or pictures
on my wall, but nothing special. I also have some personal belongings which I would like to
keep as a memory.

26. What is the “swapping circle”?

People who are part of swapping circle exchange services without using money. For example,
someone cuts another one his hair and in return, this person gives the haircutter mathematic
lessons.

27. What would you do, if you won in the lottery?

If one day, I won in the lottery, I would be so happy, because the chance of winning is very small.

In that case, I’m sure, I won’t spend all the money immediately and buy a lot of new things. First oft
all, I’m going to share some of the money with the people who supported me over the past few
years. Then I’ll give some money to an association that helps children in poor countries.

The rest, I’m going to set aside. Maybe I’ll use it one day to travel and visit place I always would have
seen. And I could stay in nicer hotels as well.

28. Do you need money to be happy?

In my opinion, you don’t need a lot of money to be happy. Money only gives you insurance.
Money allows you to buy things, to travel etc, which may give you a feeling of happiness. But
for me, real happiness are relationships, mental and physical health. In other words, I just
want to have a nice family and to be healthy.
Even if there are some people out there who are happy in their life because they are having a
lot of money, I don’t share their opinion or their lifestyle.
