BS PSYCH 3-1
1. Why is it important for a group to assign specific roles such as those mentioned during
our discussion in order to perform a certain task and achieve success? (10 pts)
It encourages higher productivity since team members may prioritize the proper
work and complete their most high-impact tasks when they are aware of their roles
and responsibilities. Additionally, it promotes personal responsibility. If a specific
task is assigned to each member of the group, they are more likely to hold one
another accountable for not doing the assignment. Individuals can improve their
communication abilities through group responsibilities, especially in activities they
are hesitant to volunteer for. There is better productivity, less confusion,
disappointment, and frustration, as well as reduced duplication of effort.
Different group responsibilities that are assigned with the intention of balancing
each team member's strengths and limitations might contribute to the team's
performance in practical, tangible ways.
2. What other strategies can you suggest aside from the suggestions provided during our
meeting that can help increase students team building skills? Provide at least 5
additional strategies. (15pts)
Make Sure Every Voice is Heard - It's an issue if team members feel as though
they are speaking on the edge. It's common to have extremely outspoken team
members, but they shouldn't be the only ones contributing ideas and setting the
agenda. Everyone should be given the chance to voice their thoughts and opinions.
Allow someone in your group who is simply watching to speak; they may have the
next big insight.
Foster Debate, Not Conflict - Diverse teams are better at development, but only if
the team members are skilled at seeking and debating various ideas. Growth is
ignited by creativity. Although it may manifest as ideas that seem strange or
unbelievable, encouraging creative problem-solving improves your team's capacity
for change adaptation, which is always a successful tactic.
Reward Good Work - Ensure that people receive the respect they merit from peers
and management. It serves as confirmation of the victory. Compliment your team
members on their efforts or professional abilities. You'll be delighted to learn how
much they value it.
Be Open To Feedback - Team members frequently have a solid feel of what may
be improved when it comes to improving processes and advancing projects. Give
them the opportunity to provide their suggestions, observations, and
recommendations.
Lead By Example - When it comes to collaborative problem-solving, leaders
should be aware of their own attitude since doing so makes it simpler for others to
work with you. Share examples of how teamwork has resulted in important
discoveries and successful businesses.
3. In what way/s does social constructivist approach can be effectively applied in the
academe or in learning process of students? (15pts)
Following that, students can use their newly acquired knowledge in a variety of
tasks or activities. While constructivism contends that you cannot directly transfer
knowledge to children, traditional approach to teaching places a strong emphasis
on providing students with information. The only thing that can help pupils build
their own knowledge is experience. Designing these encounters is the purpose of
teaching.
