OBJECTIVES

1. To describe the application concept of Boyle’s Law.

2. To determine the relationship betweenthe pressure and volume of a confined gas.

3. To learn about the planning of a measurement series, the reading of measurement results and
the conversion of measurements into a statement of theoretical principle.

ANALYSIS

Boyle's law is a gas law that states that a gas's pressure and volume are inversely proportional. When
the temperature is kept constant, as volume increases, pressure falls and vice versa.

DISCUSSION

According to Boyle’s Law , the relationship between pressure vs volume is directly proportional . When
the volume of air decreases , the pressure increases. The properties of gas does not apply the Boyle’s
Law when there is no constant temperature. 2 possible sources of error and limitations in this
experiment are parallel error and capable of pump . 2 safety precatuions involved in handling this
equipment is to make sure the valves are closed properly to avoid the water being pushed out from the
apparatus. Next is to make sure the area of experiment is dry because there are electrical apparatus
involved.

CONCLUSION

From the experiment , we can conclude that when volume of air decreases , the pressure increases.
