Maintenance

7 Maintenance

EN
This chapter shows you the maintenance procedures for the Kappa 320. For information
on maintaining and cleaning processing stations and accessories, consult the operating
instructions for the respective device.

NOTE
Maintenance for the Kappa 320 is limited to cleaning tasks and checks of the wearing
parts.

7.1 Safety notes

Personnel qualifications
Maintenance must be carried out by duly authorized personnel only.

Safety of persons
Whenever doing any maintenance in the dangerous areas around moving machine parts
and live electrical components, always turn off the machine at the main switch and secure
it against being switched on without authorization.

Maintenance intervals
The maintenance intervals are geared to single-shift operations. If the machine is run in
multiple-shift operations, the maintenance intervals should be shortened accordingly.

Compressed air
Compressed air should not be used to clean the machine; otherwise tiny bits of insulation
can be blown inside the machine housing. This increases wear and tear and has a detri-
mental effect on accuracy and functionality.
Parts may be cleaned with compressed air if they are removed from the machine first.

Cleaning materials
Never use steel wool and similar unraveling material to clean machine parts.

Solvents
Do not use solvents that corrode the metals used. Any parts cleaned with solvents must be
immediately relubricated or regreased afterwards.
Komax AG recommends the following lubricant: Klüber Microlube GL 261
