• http://flexbooks.ck12.org/flexr/ - This resource has
open textbooks for all subjects. It will allow for great
extensions and more materials on certain subjects.
• Curriki (All levels) -
• http://www.curriki.org/ - This resources has a nearly infinite amount of lesson plans
and units to be used as support for the other hope materials. It has a robust search
function that can be used for finding lessons and learning objects.
• OER Commons (All Levels) -
• http://www.oercommons.org/ - This resource is another great place to look for extra
materials for students. It allows you to search for resources from a huge repository of
Digital Learning Objects.
• HippoCampus (Secondary) -
•http://www.hippocampus.org/ - This resource is a very focused learning arena for the
following subjects. There are entire courses that you can pull material from for your own
purposes. (Algebra, Elementary Algebra, American Government, Biology, Calculus,
Calculus (Spanish), Environmental Science, Physics, Psychology, Religion, Statistics, US
History)
Language Arts:
• Free Reading (Elementary) -
•http://www.free-reading.net/ - This is a site dedicated to extra reading activities and
materials for elementary students. All resources are open and free to use.
• Librivox (All Levels) -
• http://librivox.org/ - This site has a recordings of most public domain books (many of
the books in high school and lower elementary are public domain). You can download
them and listen to them while students read through the materials.
• Many Books (All Levels) -
• http://manybooks.net/ - This is a site that allows you to download all of the public
domain books that exist. You can download the books for ipods and cell phones as well
from this site.
Math:
• MathCasts (Secondary)
• http://math247.pbwiki.com/Mathcasts+Library - This site allows you to access video
demonstrations of math topics in all different topics. Some of these are submitted by
teachers and some are submitted by students. They are fantastic.
• National Library of Virtual Manipulative (All Levels)
• http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/NAV/vlibrary.html - This site allows you to manipulate
mathematics topics in a real way on a computer. If a student has a question about how
some math topic works, this is a great resource for letting students have real world
experience.
Science:
• Human Anatomy Online (All Levels):
•http://www.innerbody.com/index.html - Although this is very specific, the resources
here are wonderful for learning about all things that are related to the body.
Social Studies:
• The World Factbook (All Levels)
• https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html - This resource
has the most information about every country in the world. This helps students out in
nearly any research or support information for Social Studies.
