1. Choose one master thesis (2020 onwards only) online under admin. & supervision (for
MAED) and Business Administration (for MBA). Write a research review based on your
understanding of research methods, best practices, and data analysis.
The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the use of exclusionary
discipline by teachers and their implementation of a problem-solving approach to conflict
resolution with grade 8 students. This study addresses the issue of discipline in the classroom,
specifically focusing on the use of exclusionary discipline and its potential effects on implementing
a problem-solving approach to conflict resolution. The research design utilizes a qualitative
approach, employing assessment and observation methods. Participants will complete a series of
assessments that assesses their frequency and methods of implementing exclusionary discipline
and problem-solving approaches. Additionally, classroom observations will be conducted to
gather data on the actual implementation of these disciplinary practices. The collected data was
analyzed using statistical techniques such as correlations and regression analysis to assess the
relationship between teacher use of exclusionary discipline and the adoption of a problem-solving
approach. The findings indicated the frequency and effectiveness of different disciplinary
strategies, providing insights into their impact on student outcomes.
2. Research Application
Qualitative analysis refers to the process of interpreting and understanding data or information through a
subjective and non-numerical approach. One common technique used in qualitative analysis is the 5W and
1H framework. The 5W and 1H method involves asking a series of questions: Who, What, When, Where,
Why, and How. These questions help researchers gather and analyze relevant information to gain a
comprehensive understanding of a phenomenon or problem.
For Example, Qualitative research design: A study exploring the experiences (what) of elderly individuals
(who) living in rural areas (where), aiming to understand their perceptions (why) of healthcare access (how),
using in-depth interviews (method) to gather rich, subjective data (what).
The 5W and 1H framework provides a structured approach to understand the key components of a
quantitative research design. By considering these fundamental questions, researchers can enhance the
clarity and coherence of their studies and ensure that all important aspects are adequately addressed. For
example, a Quantitative research design investigates the relationship between the number of hours
students spend studying (who), their final exam scores (what), and factors like motivation, demographics,
and study techniques (why). The research method involves collecting numerical data (how) through
surveys and conducting statistical analyses to identify patterns and correlations.

APPROVED TITLE PROPOSAL
PROPOSED TITLE NO. 1: Efficacy of Scientific Approach on Problem Solving Among Secondary School
Students of UPHS GMA Campus; Basis for and Intervention Scheme
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: The purpose of this research is to establish a structured approach for
assessing students' scientific ideas in decoding, presenting, and implementing the problem-solving
process. This research aims to ensure consistent and fair evaluation while promoting critical thinking and
creativity among secondary students of UPHS GMA Campus.
.RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1. What is the profile of secondary school students of UPHS GMA Campus has to the following:
1.1. Age
1.2 Gender;
1.3 Year level;
1.4 Science Subject general Average last year
2. What is the assessment on student’s problem-solving scientific approach as assessed by the two
groups of respondents in terms of:
2.1 Decoding
2.2 Representing;
2.3 Processing and;
2.4 Implementing
3. Is there significant relationship between the respondent profile and the assessments made?
4. What are the facilitating and hindering factors encountered by the science subject teachers and
students?
5. Based on findings what intervention plan could be proposed?
Research Hypothesis:
The data shows significant results on the assessment of the secondary students at UPHS GMA.
Research Locale: GMA, Cavite
Respondents of the study: Science educators and students in the secondary level at UPHS GMA
Campus.
