Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide instructions for the installation of the
hardware necessary to allow the Linear Tomography (LT) feature to operate.
Prerequisites
Important
The function of the Linear Tomography feature is dependent on proper installation, which include
the following. See the Specifications for the DRX-Evolution/DRX-Evolution Plus, 8G8804 for the
OTC rail coverage for a tomography exam.
• Accurate component positioning and placement, for example, the table and wall
stand—
– The x-ray tube’s travel and the table Bucky’s travel must align, or potential
imaging issues can occur when performing a tomography examination.
– The center of the Table, lengthwise, must be positioned properly within the range
of travel of the Overhead Tube Crane (OTC). Incorrect position can result in the
maximum capable tomographic exposure angle being reduced.
• Accurate basic mechanical setup—
– Alpha must be accurately adjusted since the alpha axis rotates during the
tomography exposure. Poor adjustment can result in the center of the x-ray beam
not remaining pointed at the same relative location on the receptor throughout
the exposure, potentially resulting in image quality concerns.
– Beta must be accurately adjusted. Poor adjustment can result in the center of the
x-ray beam not remain pointed at the same relative location on the receptor
throughout the exposure, potentially resulting in image quality concerns.
• Accurate room calibration—When setting the defined distances to the defined bucky,
ensure the accuracy is within ±1 mm when using the collimator tape measure.
Inaccuracies during room calibration can result in inaccuracies in the SID and layer height.

Caution
Dangerous voltage.
• You must use safe electrical practices, which include lock out/tag out.
• Personal protection equipment (PPE) is a requirement.
2. De-energize the system.
3. Do the lock out/tag out safety procedures.
4. Remove the cover from the generator.
5. Remove the right side panel of the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) assembly to access
the PCU area.
