Vocational scenario
Theme: Corporate Social Responsibility.
According to World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility is the
continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while
improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at
large.
Businesses worldwide have increasingly embraced the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a
means to develop and adopt sustainable practices and approaches in their business operations. It is a multifaceted
concept that encompasses many different aspects ranging from philanthropy, ethical responsibilities and
environmental considerations.
Most recently, in response to maximising stakeholder value and expectations, the strategic benefits of CSR has
seen many companies having a competitive advantage. Together with the rise of globalisation, companies now
employ CSR managers, experts and consultants to produce comprehensive CSR policies and programmes, to give
them a competitive edge and build stakeholder trust and loyalty.

=> You are working as CSR manager of an organization. You are charged with conducting a project to
implement CSR activities within your organisation to meet sustainable objectives.

Assignment activity and guidance


This is your task: you have to produce a comprehensive management plan for your project; it should cover the

followings:
1. Explain and evaluate the stages of the project lifecycle (PLC) and their importance to the success of a project.

- The project lifecycle and the stages of the project lifecycle, e.g. initiation, planning, execution and

and responsibilities to drive through the project and achieve required outcomes.
- Project management skills, including good planning, organising, leadership and communication skills.
3. Examine and evaluate a range of research methods and strategies and their importance to project management.

- Data collection methods (e.g., interviews, questionnaires, experiments, etc.) and Data analysis
methods.
4. Produce a detailed PMP that covers aims, objectives, deliverables, quality, risk, communication, resources and
research methods.

organisation to meet sustainable objectives.
