Course Completion Requirements

n Master’s Program

1) Master’s with thesis

A. Graduation Credits: total 33 credits (or more)

B. Mandatory General Courses: 3 credits, 1AU, Leadership (Must satisfy all three)
- CCXXX 3 credits (Please refer to the curriculum list)
- CC010 Special Leadership Lecture (non-credit course, compulsory for MS program, general
scholarship students and international students are exempt from this requirement)
- CC020 Ethics and Safety (1AU, must be taken before the entrance)

C. Mandatory Major Courses: 3 Credits


- GCT501 Introduction to Culture Technology

D. Elective Courses: 18 credits or more


- Must complete at least 9 credits of elective courses established by GSCT (courses starting
with GCT)
- Up to 9 credits from the following items are accepted
• 400 level courses (the courses must be mutually recognized courses for undergraduate
and graduate.) from CTP or other departments.
• 500 level or higher from other departments

E. Research Course: 9 credits or more (including 2 seminar credits)


- Required to earn 9 credits or more including thesis research and seminar courses
- 3 credits of the research credits can be earned by an internship program of at least
2 months in duration
- Please note that international students who have completed the Korean language courses
(HSS586, HSS587, HSS589 or HSS590) shall be exempt from the completion requirement
of 2 seminar course credits
2) Master’s with coursework only

A. Graduation Credits: total 36 credits (or more)

B. Mandatory General Courses: 3 credits, 1AU, Leadership (Must satisfy all three)
- CCXXX 3 credits (Please refer to the curriculum list)

C. Mandatory Major Courses: 3 Credits


- GCT501 Introduction to Culture Technology

D. Elective Courses: 27 credits or more


- Must complete at least 18 credits of elective courses established by GSCT (courses starting
with GCT)
- Up to 9 credits from the following items are accepted
• 400 level courses (the courses must be mutually recognized courses for undergraduate
and graduate.) from CTP or other departments.
• 500 level or higher from other departments

E. Research Course: 9 credits or more (including 2 seminar credits)


- Required to earn 9 credits or more including individual research and seminar courses
- 1 credits of the research credits can be earned by an internship program of at least
2 months in duration
- Please note that international students who have completed the Korean language courses
(HSS586, HSS587, HSS589 or HSS590) shall be exempt from the completion requirement
of 2 seminar course credits

n Doctoral Program

A. Graduation Credits: total 60 credits (or more)

B. Mandatory General Courses: 3 credits and 1AU


- CCXXX 3 credits (Please refer to the curriculum list)
- CC020 Ethics and Safety (1AU, must be taken before the entrance)

C. Mandatory Major Courses: 3 Credits


- GCT501 Introduction to Culture Technology

D. Elective Courses: 27 credits or more


- Must complete at least 18 credits of elective courses established by GSCT (courses starting
with GCT)
- Up to 9 credits from the following items are accepted
• 400 level courses (the courses must be mutually recognized courses for undergraduate
and graduate.) from CTP or other departments.
• 500 level or higher from other departments
E. Research Course: 27 credits or more (including 4 seminar credits)
- Required to earn 27 credits or more including thesis research and seminar courses
- Please note that international students who have completed the Korean language courses
(HSS586, HSS587, HSS589 or HSS590) shall be exempt from the completion requirement
of 2 seminar course credits

※ Course credits earned during the Master's coursework can be transferred to Doctoral coursework
requirements (except research credits).

n Interim Measures

A. This course requirement is applied to students entering from the 2022 academic year.
However, if students who entered until the 2021 academic year wish to apply this
requirement, they will be applied with this requirement.
B. The provision concerning exemption from completion requirement of seminar course for all
international students shall apply equally.
