At Bio-Rad, we respect the privacy of our customers who use our products, and the privacy of the consumers (such as patients)
served by our customers.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), (EU) 2016/679, is a European regulation on data protection and privacy. The
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) specifies requirements for patient privacy and electronic data
security in the United States. Many other countries in all regions of the world have passed laws aimed at protecting the privacy of
its citizens. Bio-Rad has both GDPR and HIPAA compliance programs as part of our overall global approach to meeting the data
privacy and information security requirements of our customers. This statement addresses topics that are specifically relevant to
BRiCare and personal data protection in accordance with GDPR, HIPAA, other global privacy requirements and Bio-Rad company
policies.
The main purpose of the BRiCare software is to provide our customers with fast, efficient and effective remote support to enable
our customers to provide reliable and continuous services, such as laboratory testing, to their consumers.
