Laboratory Activity - 3 - Separation Technique
LABORATORY ACTIVITY #3
SEPARATION TECHNIQUES
In this activity, the students will know the different separation techniques to separate
mixture into its individual compenent.
There may be instances wherein the substance around us are not in their pure form.
Basically, it will be in a form of mixture (composed of two or more substances). To be able to
isolate one substance or material from the other, a separation technique is used. It varies from
simple methods to a more complex way.
I. Objective: To be able to know how to separate mixture into its individual component.
II. Materials: Distillation apparatus, filtration apparatus, evaporation, paper or thin layer
chromatography.
