Description:
A high quality, fire proofing water-borne intumescent coating formulated without halogens and low VOC, designed for protection of
structural steels from cellulosic fire.
Recommended Use:
It is recommended to use for interior applications as a fireproofing paint on structural steels to provide protection from cellulosic fires, up
to 4 hours
Characteristics:
• Fire resistance up to 4 hours.
• Flame spread resistance.
• Halogens-free.

• High resistance to corrosion.
• High resistance to chemicals and water.
Certificates:
• Independently tested & certified by Exova Warringtonfire, UK in accordance with BS-476 Part 21.

• Viscosity: 135 KU @ 25°C (ASTM D562)

Surface Preparation:
PRE-CLEANING:
• Remove all visible surface deposits such as grease, oils and soils with suitable detergent. Remove salt and other contaminants by
washing using high pressure fresh water.
• Where necessary, work to remedy or alleviate design or fabrication defects such as weld spatter, and where required smooth weld
seams and sharp edges before abrasive blasting.
NEW STEEL:
• Refer to pre-cleaning, the surface must be prepared according to Sa 2½ (NACE No.2/SSPC-SP 10) or Sa 2 (NACE No. 3/SSPC-SP 6) .

Application Condition:
• Temperature during application should be more than (5°C).
• Surface temperature: at least (3°C) above dew point.
• Relative humidity: maximum 85%.
Painting System:
• Primers: Jazeera Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer.
• Topcoats: Jazeera Firedamp W3.
For protection & colored appearance apply “Jazeera Firedamp 275” as a topcoat for exterior applications.
Application Method and Thinning:

THINNER: Tap water.

* Depends on the weather condition at work place.
** Recommended for stripe coat and small areas.
• Conventional spray is not recommended to apply this product.
• Always mix the product thoroughly with a power agitator before application.
Drying Time and Recoating:

Drying times are generally related to air circulation, temperature, film thickness and number of coats, and will be affected correspondingly.
• Temperature 25°C/77°F
• Relative humidity 50%
• Surface dry 2 hours
• Hard dry 6 hours
• Dry to recoat, minimum 8 hours
• Dry to recoat, maximum* ------
• Full cure 7 days.
Note: All records given in the table are typical at recommended film thickness, good ventilation and one coat system.
*The surface should be dry and clean prior to application. The best time to recoat is before previous coat is cured. If this time is exceeded,
the surface may need to be roughened slightly.
Limitations:
• Level of surface finish is dependent on application method. Avoid using a mixture of application methods whenever possible.
• Highly decorative finish is possible if properly prepared before top coating.
• Over-application will extend both the minimum over coating periods and handling times.
• ‘Firedamp W3’ must be protected from Freezing at all times (storage & transportation).
• Coating (with or without topcoat) must be protected from running water & frequent water immersion.
Packing:
Drum : 18 Ltr .
Shelf Life & Storage:

• Shelf life : 12 months @ 25 °C.
• Storage: The container should be kept in sealed, dry, cool, well ventilated place and stored in accordance with national regulations.

Handling and Safety:

• Clean up: Use "Clean Water" for tools cleaning and in case of spillage, absorb and dispose.
• Handling: Handle with care. Stir very well before use.
• Health and safety:Please read and follow the precautionary notices displayed on the container, and all caution statements on the MSDS
of this product.During application of paint, contact of liquid paint with eyes, skin, inhalation of paint mist and paint vapor should be strongly
avoided.For spray application systems; applicator should wear protective clothing, gloves, also eye, skin and respiratory protection are
always recommended Keep away from reach of children.
• Ventilation: When used in enclosed areas, thoroughair circulation must be used during and afterapplication until the coating is cured. In
addition, respirators must be used by all applicator.
• Environmental safety: Please donate the leftover paint and packaging to your local authorized institution for usage or recycling purpose.
• Note: Wastes and empty containers should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations made under the Control of Pollution Act
and the Environmental Protection Act.
