PORTFOLIO THEORY AND INVESTMENT ANALYSIS

Question: Technical analysis

Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company (HPG)

During the period from November 24, 2023 to February 26, 2024, we can see the UPTREND
pattern of the price of HPG stock as I already drawn as above. I also collect the data of stock
price for that period and calculate the Moving Average index for HPG’ stock.

The main result as below:

Based on the result, we can see that the Moving Average indexes are increasing gradually over
the period, which sign the uptrend pattern of the stock. Therefore, I predict that in the future,
price of HPG stock will have some fluctuations but in general, it will continue to rise although it
is not the signal be used to forecast the future trend. That’s the reason why I will continue to
hold my stock and sell in appropriate time in the future to gain the profit.
