on national highways to enhance road safety and connectivity.

SCs, and STs by facilitating bank loans and support for starting new enterprises.
UDAN Scheme (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik): Launched: 21st Oct 2016 - Purpose: To promote regional
air connectivity by making air travel affordable for common citizens.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: Launched: 1st May 2016 - Purpose: To provide free LPG
connections to BPL families to reduce indoor air pollution caused by burning of conventional cooking
fuels.
Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana Saubhagya: Launched: 25th September 2017 by
Ministry of Power - Objective: To ensure electrification of all households in the country, particularly
rural households.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana - Ayushman Bharat: Launched: 23rd September 2018 from
Ranchi, Jharkhand - Objective: To provide cashless health insurance coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per
family per year to vulnerable families.
PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme: Launched: 1st February 2019 - Purpose: To provide direct
income support of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal installments to small and marginal farmers.
Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana: Launched: 15th February 2019- Purpose: To
provide a monthly pension of Rs. 3000 to unorganized sector workers upon reaching the age of 60
years, with a monthly income of Rs. 15000 or less
Agniveer Scheme: Scheme Announcement: June 14, 2022 - Purpose: To recruit youth aged 17.5 to
23 years into all three services (land, water, air) for a four-year service period, providing a service
fund package of Rs. 11.71 lakh and reservations in CAPF and Assam Rifles.
PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Launched: September 17, 2023 from New Delhi- Objective: To provide
loans at minimal interest rates without collateral to 30 lakh families of traditional craftsmen and
artisans, encompassing 18 traditional businesses.
PM Janman Yojana: Launched: November 15, 2023 by PM Modi from Jharkhand - Objective: To
enhance socio-economic conditions among particularly vulnerable tribal groups through 11 focused
tasks across 9 ministries, spanning 2023-24 to 2025-26.
PM Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana - Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana: Launched: 13th February 2024 by
PM Modi - Purpose: Installation of solar panels on 1 crore house rooftops to provide up to 300 units of
free electricity per month and subsidies up to Rs. 78000.

Karpuri Thakur: Born on January 24, 1924, in Pitaujhiya (now Karpoori) village, Samastipur district,
Bihar. Died on February 17, 1988. Known as Jannayak due to his popularity. First non-Congress Chief
Minister of Bihar. Introduced reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) in India. Gave second
official language status to Urdu in Bihar.
Lal Krishna Advani: Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi (now in Pakistan). Joined RSS in 1942;
founding member of BJP in 1980. Started Rath Yatra for Ram temple in 1990. Elected to Rajya Sabha in
1970. Home Minister of India; Deputy Prime Minister of India. Padma Vibhushan awardee in 2015.
M.S. Swaminathan: Born on August 7, 1925, in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. Father of India's Green
Revolution. Received Ramon Magsaysay Award 1971, Padma Shri 1967, Padma Bhushan 1972, and
Padma Vibhushan 1989. Died on September 28, 2023, in Chennai.
P.V. Narasimha Rao: Born on June 28, 1921, in Laknepalli village, Warangal district, Telangana. Prime
Minister of India from 1991 to 1996. Home Minister of India; Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Implemented significant constitutional amendments. Died on December 23, 1902, in Neorpax, Meerut
district, Uttar Pradesh.
