ONE ✅

-Swords

Narrator:

In the town of Verona, Italy; there lived two families. Families which were sworn enemies. Blood for
blood, eye for an eye; families who would not flinch nor hesitate to draw their swords. These are the
Montagues and the Capulets!

[FIGHT SCENE]

Prince Escalus: Stop all of this at once! Your families have threatened and disrupted civilians’ lives! If you
fight with each other again, and cause trouble to Verona, I shall put you all to death! Am I clear?!

ALL: Yes, Sire.

Prince Escalus: Now, leave!

Lord Montague: Ugh, I hate the guts of those people. They think they're so powerful and mighty, but
they are all twisted people!

Benvolio: Exactly, sire. But don’t worry, we'll get them next time.

Lord Montague: Benvolio, where is my son?

Benvolio: I have no clue, Sire. He has been avoiding me lately!

Lord Montague: I do not understand! Why doesn’t he talk to anyone? Find him, Benvolio.

Benvolio: I will, Sire.

Benvolio: Where is that cousin of mine? Oh, there you are, Romeo!

Benvolio: Good morning, cousinnnn!!!

Romeo: Hush, Benvolio. I am not really in the mood.

Benvolio: Oh, Romeo is oh so gloomy. Let me guess; you are in love! Haha (sarcastic) Romeo is in love!

Romeo: Someome might hear you! But what makes you say that?

Benvolio: I am a man, too, Romeo. I understand every feeling that you are feeling. And her name is?

Romeo: Rosaline. But she is bound to marry another. I cannot force her to choose me. I love her, but she
can’t seem to learn how to love me. I’m hers, but she’s not mine.

Mercutio: Hello, boys! (slight pause for their reaction) Oh! Why are you both down?

Benvolio: Romeo is in love!

Mercutio: Hahaha! In love? Romeo Montague is in love? Who is this lucky woman? Why does she cause
you sadness?

Benvolio: The thing is called Rosaline. Romeo says that his love is unreciprocated. Oooh ouch.

Mercutio: Poor Romeo. Leave that be, let's forget those women and find better ones at the Capulet’s
ball! I heard that pretty women in all of Verona will grace the ball. You could find the woman of your
life!

Romeo: Mercutio, that is insane. That is literally suicide. You know our history. The Capulets and the
Montagues have always had conflict. Just recently, a fight broke out. Am I right, Benvolio.?

Benvolio: Yes! It's too risky.

Mercutio: Nah, we’ll be out in mere minutes. What do you say, Benvolio? Romeo?

Benvolio: Anything to fix Romeo’s broken heart.

Romeo: Fine!

(curtain closes)

Narrator: Act 2. In the patio of the house is Juliet with her nurse Amy, who are looking at the flowers.

Juliet: Oh nurse Amy, I would like to find the love of my life, and be as beautiful as these roses.

Nurse: You'll get it, surely the love of your life is thinking the same thing at this moment.

Enters the stage: Mrs. Capulet

Mrs. Capulet: This garden is full of roses, but you are the most beautiful my beautiful

daughter.
Juliet (Hopeful): Mother, I want to fall in love, I want to know love.

Mrs. Capulet: Well, at tonight's party you will fall in love, and it will be Count Paris who

will do it.

Count Paris: Juliet Capulet, my rose. I am Count Paris. Beautiful as ever. It is my pleasure to dance with
you tonight.

Juliet: The pleasure is all mine, Count Paris.

(Romeo, Benvolio, Mercutio arrived; hustling)

(Romeo bumps into Rosaline)

(in front of judges)

Romeo: R—Rosaline?

Rosaline: Romeo? What are you doing here?

Romeo: I love you, Rosaline. Why can’t thou choose me?

Rosaline: I do not love you, Romeo. I could never love you. So please, for your sake, leave my sight.

(partners switch)

Romeo: What’s your name?

Juliet: Juliet

Romeo: Your hands are pretty.

(kiss)

Juliet: (na-shock) W-who are you?

Romeo: Romeo. Romeo….. Montague.

Juliet: Wait --- Montague?

Romeo: Yes.

Juliet: I am Juliet Capulet.

Romeo: Wait, Capulet? I’m sorry, I have to go.

Lady Capulet: JULIEEEEEETTTTTTT (3x)

Juliet: Yes, mother?

Lady Capulet: Have you met Count Paris?

Juliet: Yes.

Lady Capulet: Good. He was the dashiest count your father have seen. We will have further discussions
in the morning, and we’ll talk about marriage. It’s late, get some rest.

(in front of judges)

Thea: I swear, my Lord. I saw Romeo! We must do something. We can’t let a Montague come here!

Lord Capulet: Relax, Thea. All will be well. Trust me. All is going just as planned.

Juliet: What a night. Was that guy really Romeo? But I felt something in my heart.

(Somewhere Out There intro plays)

Juliet: May he be the love of my life? A Montague made my heart beat. I miss you, dear Romeo.
Wherever you are, my heart sings this harmony, hoping that your heart also beats for mine…
somewhere out there.

(they sing the song)

Juliet: You came back!

Romeo: Yes, my Juliet. My heart also beat for you.

Juliet: Oh, Romeo! Our families will surely oppose our union!

Romeo: I do not care! I love you and that is all that matters! I am willing to risk everything for you! Say
you feel the same!
Juliet: Yes! People may think it's weird to fall to a guy you met at your parents’ ball, which turns out to
be the son of your family’s enemy, but Romeo, from the moment I saw you, I knew you were different!
It’s like an invisible string led us to each other! And I wouldn’t have wanted us to meet in any other
way!

Nurse: Juliet? Juliet, it’s time for bed!

Juliet: I’m coming, nurse!

(close curtains)

Friar Lawrence: What? You want to get married today? To the only child of Lord Capulet?

Romeo: Precisely.

Friar Lawrence: You are truly delusional, my child. I hope you understand the risks you are taking.

Romeo: What is love without taking any risk's? I love Juliet with all my heart. I hope God would look on
us worthy of his abundance and blessings. Please understand me, dear friar. I love her with all my heart

Friar Lawrence: Mad lover. You are a mad lover, Romeo. Well, it's very risky. But if the universe refuses
to answer a stubborn heart, who am I to refuse? It would be my greatest honor. Very well.

Benvolio 2: And we all know that Thea is called the Princess of cats! So what are we gonna do now?

Mercutio: Oh, heavens. Truly bad. But we can’t deny this request. I will be the one to face Thea.. He’ll
get what he is searching for. To the death.
Benvolio 2: No! Thea is here!

Mercutio: I do not care!

Thea: Gentlemen, good morning! A word with one of you.

Mercutio: Just a word?

Thea: Do not test me!

Mercutio: Come one, Thwa. Let’s go. Woman to man.

Thea: Oh, Mercutio! Here’s the one I was looking for. You’re a coward!

Romeo: I am not a coward! I see that you don’t know me well.

(Thea tried to slay Romeo but Mercutio blocked it with his sword)

(sword fight)

Romeo: You all need to stop!

(Mercutio was stabbed)

Romeo: MERCUTIOOOOOOO!!!!!

Benvolio 2: No! Are you hurt?

Mercutio: It’s just a scratch but it’s enough to kill me. Romeo, never give up on love. Mercutio loves you.
Goodbye, my friend.

Romeo: This is all my fault!

Benvolio 2: Romeo….. h-he’s gone…

Romeo: Dark days have just begun… you bastard! You will pay for this!

Juliet: No, my love wouldn’t do that… I’m sure that that cousin of mine wanted to kill my husband! I
should not cry because my Romeo is still alive!

Nurse: Alive and banished from Verona!

Juliet: Banished? Why? My love wouldn’t kill unless needed! Nurse, I beg of you, allow me to see him. I
need to talk to my husband!

Nurse: But my dear, I am tasked to protect you! I cannot lead you to any danger!

Juliet: What’s the use of your protection if I am harmed from the inside? My heart is slowly dying
knowing that my Romeo is in danger and here I am, locked up in my room, doing nothing! So what is it,
nurse? Will you protect me?

Nurse: I only want what’s best for you, darling.
