Emerg ing E-Business Models: A Web 3.0 Perspective

I have done an exploratory descriptive research on the evolution of web and business modeling for e-
businesses. Based on the research and study, I have designed and presented a four dimensional e-
business model for Web 3.0 that is named as PMI-T e-business model. The model has been accredited by
the jury at University of The Punjab, Lahore (Pakistan) after critical review and defense under the
supervision of Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar ( Principal at Punjab University College of Information
Technology and Director at Institute of Business & Information Technology ). Working on research
papers to publish the model in the international high impact e-commerce journals.

Pakistan. I am giving IT-Consultancy to Mahmood Sons for integration and centralization of their
warehouses and showrooms.

At Mahmood Sons I am responsible for:

Internship
As a partial requirement for MBIT program I was given an opportunity to learn about
banking in the professional environment of Bank Alfalah Limited. There I learnt about
the remittance, cheque clearing, account management and credits. The experience of
working on BANK SMART banking application was a good learning and understanding
of banking (accounts) automation systems and customer management systems. I also
made an OBC CHARGES CALCULATOR for my supervisor in the cheques clearing
department.

COMMERCIAL & ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Online Management System for Mahmood Sons

The online management system provides a web based integrated human resource management
system, inventory management system, sales management system, accounts and finance
management system, customer relationship management system and supplier management system.
The front end of the system is developed using PHP, AJAX, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, JQUERY,
CRYSTAL REPORTS and other web based front end tools required to support the system
efficiency and effectiveness. The backend of the system is in MYSQL, the system runs on WAMP
(WINDOWS, APACHE, MYSQL & PHP) server. The system has been designed, developed and
implemented by my individual technical efforts over the period of 6 months with continuous
improvement in the system for more than a year.

Design & Implementation of Corporate Network for Mahmood Sons

I have designed and implemented the corporate network architecture for Mahmood Sons to run
the online management system and provide connectivity among widespread showrooms and
warehouses of Mahmood Sons. The network provides LAN & WLAN connectivity within all
premises and interconnects all the premises via WAN. The network has centralized web server
that hosts the online management system in a private cloud. The network also provides
connectivity and centralized monitoring of all the premises using close circuit cameras
implemented at the sites and accessible via web interface.

Online Management System for Alif Plastic Industry

I am working on the automation of Alif Plastic Industry. API is a PVC and PPRC manufacturing
company that acquires raw material from national and international suppliers and adds production
and processing values to it for PPRC and PVC Sanitary Fittings. The automation system has been
designed to provide automation to the procurement department, raw material inventory
management, production process, sales management, inventory of finished goods, quality
management, supplier management and account & finance management. The designed system is
to be implemented using web platform with WAMP and supportive technologies on a SaaS
platform.

Online Biometric Attendance & Payroll Manager

Designed and developed a biometric attendance and payroll manager that uses a finger print
scanner to enroll and identify an employee and mark his/her attendance in the online attendance
manager. The software also provides payroll automation on the base of monthly salary, allowed
leaves, attendance bonus, overtime payments, late and absent fines. It was specially designed for
Mahmood Sons; however it has the potential to be customized for other clients. The system was
developed using C#, web services and MySql.
Enterprise Software System for School

It is a web based ESS designed to fulfill the needs of a multi branch school network. The software
system consist of admission management system, faculty management system, student
management system, exam management system, attendance management system, leave
management system, quiz management system, album management system, school management
system and others. The database structure was designed using ER Studio. The DFD was drawn
using EDRAW MAX 5. The GANTT and PERT chart were drawn on MS VISIO. The front end
was developed using PHP, AJAX, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and backend is in MySql.

University Automation System for Hajvery University.

It was the final project of BS(Hons) Computer Science (Soft. Engg. & RDBMS). The university
automation system provided a complete set of management modules for the student and faculty
recruitment, student enrollment, course management and student registration, faculty hiring and
payroll management, examination and result management along with a strong reporting system to
analyze the performance of students from various backgrounds in a particular program. The
system was developed as with role based access and control management system for students,
faculty and administration using web technology. The front end and control panel was developed
using asp.NET while the back end was developed using Microsoft SQL Server.

It is a website project that I did for Mahmood Sons (pvt) Ltd. The website is developed using
PHP, MySql, JavaScripts, AJAX, CSS and Flash as tools.

MrMaoShanghai.com

It was a static website. The design work is done in Adobe Photoshop. With a little work of PHP
on the feedback and contact forms, the static contents of the site are made using a blend of CSS
and Javascript.

Student Admission System

It was my semester project for DBMS. It was a complete admission management system designed
for a school. The database structure was designed in ER Studio 8.0 and Oracle XE 10g was used
to develop the database and front end elements.

Quiz Management System

It was a semester project for the course of OOP. The project was designed to maintain a question
bank and enable teachers to create quizzes out of them. It provides all the facilities regarding quiz
management e.g. scoring, grading, reporting and etc. The front end was designed and implemented
in C# and the backend was in MS Access.

Movie Rental System

It was a semester project for the course of Principles of Programming. The software was designed
for member and rental record management for a Movie Store. The front end was in VB .NET and
backend was in MS Access.

Web Portal ( ApnaPakistan )

It was a semester project of my course E-Commerce. The front end and control panel was
developed using asp and the backend was developed in MS Access.
 PCB Simulator

It was the final project of my course Operating System. PCB Simulator demonstrated the
implementation of FCFS, SJFnp, SJFp, RR, MLQ, MLFQ and priority based processing of
processes in a CPU. It was developed using Java applet and demonstrated how the processes are
being simultaneously run on computer system.

Picture Puzzle and Magic Games

Picture Puzzle was a 16 x 16 puzzle game developed in Java applet for single player. It was an
inspiration from single dice moving picture puzzle hand game. The Magic Game was based on
mathematical trick of multiples of 9, and developed in Java applet. These were my final projects
for JAVA-I developed in Java.

Luddo (Game)

It was my final project of course Programming in C. The game was designed and developed for at
least 2 players and a maximum of 4 players using C programming language.

Implementation of Warid TABS over Internet.

Warid re-launched its TABS services for franchise in August 2008. I was the leading IT Support
Engineer in the implementation and covered the central region.

Strategic Business Management (stayconnected.com)

It was a group project in which we presented a business plan for an online business based on
ecommerce strategies along with the strategic business management plan for the Human Resource
Management, Operations Management Strategies, Strategic Marketing Management, Financial
Management, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, Total Quality
Management and Selling Strategies and Sales Management. The overall goal of the project was to
attract an investor in a business plan that promises high, speedy, secure and sustainable returns on
investment.

Project Appraisal (IT Consultancy Firm)

It was a group project for the financial appraisal course in which we conducted a financial analysis
of the IT Consultancy market, and provided bases for the planning and financial feasibility of
setting up an IT Consultancy Firm. The core idea was to demonstrate the financial analytic abilities
to conduct a feasibility study that supports the capital budgeting and investment decision making
in terms of financial fact and figures.

Organisation Theory and Design (Mahmood Sons pvt Ltd.)

It was a group project on the organizational study of the Mahmood Sons pvt Ltd. under the
course outline of Organization Theory and Design. Our team conducted an observational study of
the human resources, operations, accounts, production, sales, customer relationship management,
supplier management, supply value chain management and positioning of Mahmood Sons pvt Ltd.
in the tiles and sanitary fittings market.
