AND EF STRAIGHT COUPLER.
2. PIT WILL BE FURTHER EXCAVATED TO 200MM
BELOW PIPE AT SADDLE LOCATION.
3. CARRY OUT VISUAL INSPECTION AT OLD DI
SADDLE FOR ANY LEAKS HISTORY EITHER AT
SADDLE, FERRULE OR COMM PIPE BODY ETC.
RECORD THE FINDINGS.
4. WASH AND CLEAN THE PIPE AND LOOSELY
FIXED NEW DI SADDLE CLOSE TO THE OLD DI
SADDLE.
5. REMOVE OLD DI SADDLE AND PLUG THE
TAPPING HOLE USING WOODEN PLUG – CARE TO
BE TAKEN NOT TO BREAK THE PIPE .
6. INSPECT THE CONDITION OF TAPPING HOLE,
CLEAN THE STAINS.
7. SLIDE NEW SADDLE TO POSITION JUST AFTER
WOODEN PLUG HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT AND
LOCK THE FERRULE.
8. CONNECT COMM PIPE TO FERRULE AND SS
ELBOS AT METER STAND USING MTA.
9. OPEN THE FERRULE LOCK AND CHECK ANY
LEAKS AT ALL JOINT (VISUAL INSECTION) AT
WORKING PRESSURE.

5 COMMUNICATION PIPE BACKFILL WORKS

1. THE MINIMUM COVER OF COMM PIPE:-


▪ ROAD VERGE 300MM
▪ UNDER ROAD SURFACE 450MM
2. USE WATER TO SPREAD THE SAND TO
FILLED DIFFICULT AREA FOLLOW BY
HAND COMPACTOR OR HAND TAMPER.
PE - PEMBINAAN “THRUST BLOCK“ DAN
6 “ANCHOR BLOCK”
➢ Bagi paip HDPE yang ditanam ianya mempunyai sifat self-restrained, namun begitu
sistem “anchoring” akan digunakan dengan menanam “poly anchor” untuk
menghalang pergerakan memanjang

➢ Namun, bagi paip HDPE disambung menggunakan non-restrained gasket, puddle


collar perlu dipasang pada permukaan paip yang bersentuhan dengan anchor block
(konkrit Gred 25) bagi mengelakkan sambungan mekanikal tertanggal.

➢ Kemudian, tanah akan ditimbus dan dipadatkan sehingga mencapai 95%
Standard Proctor Density.

- PROCEDURES

❑Trench mestilah dipadatkan samada secara manual atau mekanikal.


❑ Bagi communication pipe, dibenarkan menggunakan hand
compactor.
❑ Bagi main pipe, mechanical compactor hendaklah digunakan.
❑ Tanah dipadat secara lapisan tidak melebihi 150mm setiap lapisan.
❑ Jika kawasan pemadatan hampir dengan permukaan paip, air boleh
digunakan sebagai salah satu kaedah untuk meratakan pasir ke
sekitar permukaan paip sebelum dipadatkan dengan menggunakan
hand tamper/compactor.
❑ Tanah dipadat sehingga mencapai 95% Standard Proctor Density.

PRESSURE TEST (UJIAN TEKANAN) : PAIP UTAMA

• Ujian pertama yang dijalankan sebaik sahaja


pemasangan paip siap dijalankan adalah ujian
tekanan.
• Air bersih dimasukkan ke dalam paip dan angin yang
terperangkap dikeluarkan.
• Air perlulah diisi kedalam paip sekurang kurangnya
12 jam sebelum ujian dilaksanakan.
• Berdasarkan BS 6700, ujian tekanan dilaksanakan
dengan penetapan tekanan air di dalam paip
sebanyak 12 bar selama 10 minit.
• Ujian dianggap lulus sekiranya tiada sebarang
penurunan tekanan pada bacaan “Pressure Gauge”.
PIPELINE TEST
9 CREEP TEST Paip Utama

• Kebiasaanya, ujian ini dilakukan pada awal pagi atau petang bagi
mengelakkan gangguan suhu yang boleh menganggu bacaan
tekanan.
• Ujian yang dijalankan sebaik ujian tekanan LULUS.
• Tekanan dalam paip diturunkan kepada 4 bar dan bacaan tekanan
diambil selama 90 minit.
• Ujian dianggap lulus sekiranya tiada penurunan pada bacaan
tekanan.
TAPPING TESTING
10 TAPPING TEST (UJIAN TEKANAN) : Communication pipe PE100 di atas
Paip Utama PE100

• Ujian kebocoran secara visual bagi setiap saddle


dilakukan selepas sahaja keseluruhan sambungan ke
meter stand baru dipasang dan tekanan paip dalam 5
bar.
• Pastikan semua sambungan masih terbuka dan aras
air mestilah 200mm di bawah aras paip.
• Kekalkan tekanan 5 bar dalam paip, lihat semua
sambungan untuk sebarang kebocoran dan baiki
sekiranya ada.
• Jika tiada kebocoran dilihat, semua korekan bolehlah
dikambus semula dan dipadakan.
• Ujian tekanan terhadap communication pipe
dilakukan selepas kerja-kerja tapping siap.
• Tekanan sebanyak 12 bar diberikan selama 10 minit
untuk ujian sistem paip (ujian bersama keseluruhan
system paip – Paip Utama dan Paip Komunikasi.
• Pastikan tekanan tidak turun dan tiada berlaku
kebocoran semasa ujian dijalankan, sebaliknya ujian
dianggap gagal dan pihak kontraktor perlu mencari
dan membaiki kebocoran tersebut.
• Lakukan ujian diwaktu awal pagi atau lewat petang
