Schedule UR1

UNIT RATE FOR CABLING

Cables shall be measured, assessed and paid for on the basis of the unit rates quoted in the following
pages and the actual lengths of cables installed between terminations. Allowance for wastage shall be
deemed to have been included in the rates quoted. The cables which are not listed but are required for
connection to equipment being supplied under the Works shall be deemed to be included in the prices
entered against other items in Schedule of Prices.

Unit rates quoted shall include prices for the following in addition to the installation of cables including
materials:-

a) Price for laying direct in ground including trenching, back filling etc. as per the Specification and
Tender Drawings.

b) Price for including suitable cable glands, cable lugs, etc.

c) Price for making straight through cable ducts including sealing of cable ducts after installation as
per the Specification.

d) Price for installation through cable ducts including sealing of cable ducts after installation as per
the Specification.

e) Price for installation on cable trays in concrete trenches as per the Specification.

f) Price for testing of the cable after installation as per the Specification.

Note 1: Concrete cable trenches will be provided by others. The Contractor shall be responsible for
checking. Providing the details on the required size, location; the sizes and locations of these
facilities and the making of any necessary modifications in co-operation with the building
contractor to S.O.'s approval.

Note 2: Straight through joints will not be permitted unless approved by S.O.

UNIT RATE FOR CABLING

Cables buried direct in ground, including excavation, sand bedding, compacted sand cover,
backfill and compact with sifted earth, reinstatement of landscape and/or premix, uPVC
cable warning slab and cable markers. The works shall be carried out in accordance to IEE
wiring regulation (Table 4A- method of cable installation) 16th Edition.

DAYWORKS SCHEDULE

Schedule of Dayworks:

In the event of any work in connection with the Works being required to be executed as Dayworks, it
shall be paid for at rates stated herewith. They shall only be used as a basis for payment when normal
rates are not applicable and must be ordered in writing by the C.A.

Rates:

The daywork rates inserted shall be all-in-rates and shall include wages contributions to Employees
Provident Fund (EPF), bonuses, expenses, travelling expenses and subsistence, use of ordinary plant and
tools and their maintenances, scaffolding, fencing, water, power, fuel, watching, lighting, supervision,
overall establishment charges, all insurances and allowances and Contractor’s profit.

Only time on work actually done shall be allowed. A day is considered to be working day of 8 hours.
Fraction of a day will be paid for pro-rata.

The time of gangers working with their gangs is to be paid for by the appropriate items, but the time of
foreman (or leading hands and charge hands) and working gangers is not to be included.

Claims for payment must be accompanied by time sheets and materials and goods vouchers endorsed by
the C.A. Such endorsement shall not bind the C.A. to value the work as Daywork. If required, Contractor
shall also produce his receipted bills, invoices, wages book and any other evidence in support of his
claims.

Where special mechanical plant (not stated in the list) is required for use on Daywork, the cost to be paid
to the Contractor shall be subjected to agreement by the C.A.

As provided by Clause 25.2 of the Conditions of Contract, 15% shall be added to the rates herein stated.
Materials supplied by the C.A. for use in Daywork shall not be subjected to the 15% addition.

Rates for power driven tools are not included in the labour rates, but charges for hand tools shall be
deemed to be included.
