    1. What is the purpose of the ISO/IEC 17025 document ?

    Ans- ISO/ IEC 17025 is useful for Organizations that performs sampling, testing or calibration and

    wants reliable results. It puts together guidelines to generate valid results.

    2. Identify 3 and discuss briefly 3 requirements outlined in the ISO/ IEC document and the CAN-

    P-1595 document.

    Ans- 1. Organization - The laboratory shall include in its documentation which staff has

    responsibilities under this PSA.

    2.Management system- Maintain a quality manual that includes or makes reference to all

    Test Method Development & Non-Routine Testing policies, processes and procedures.

    3. Internal audits- Internal audit schedule and procedure must include projects and

    activities related to this PSA.

    4. Test and calibration and method validation Laboratory-Developed Methods- Laboratory

    developed methods are planned, and assigned to qualified personnel. For non-routine

    testing requirements, include limitations as required by the work & approved by the

    customer.

    3. What is a quality policy statement?

    Ans- ISO defines a quality policy as a general statement of an organization’s commitment to quality.

    4. Find the quality policy statements for 3 laboratories and identify some of the common elements.

    Name of Lab:

    a) – UC Davis Analytical Laboratory- “To provide high quality and timely analyses of soil, plant,

    water, feed, and other samples and to consistently meet the requirements and expectations of

    our clients.”

    b) -Europhins- It is the policy of Eurofins companies and Certification Body to achieve and maintain

    the highest standard of quality in all aspects of its work.

    c) -iQ-Laboratory- It undertakes to supply the standards and objectives set out in this Quality

    Manual to its clients in keeping with all the elements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 whilst maintaining

    economical viability of the test facility. iQ Laboratory thrives to become market leader in North-

    Holland, excel in quality of analysis and fast results reporting.

    system.

    The laboratory ensures to meet the expectations of customers by:

    • Maintaining a quality management system which meets the requirements of ISO 17025:2017.

    • Continuously update and improve the quality systems and SOPs.

    • Regularly participating in proficiency testing and training programs.
