Personal Experience
In the month of July 2022, I had the opportunity to work as an intern at Shivadass and Shivadass
law Chambers for a period of one month from 4th July 2022 to 2nd August 2022.
The office timings were from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On the first day, all the interns had an
introductory session with the Associates and Senior Associates of the Firm. Each intern was
assigned a mentor who would be assigning tasks and resolving the queries of the interns.
The internship experience was informative and knowledgeable and has proved to be a great
learning experience for me. Through this internship, I dealt with a variety of cases in different
fields of law ranging from Consumer Protection Law, Indirect taxation to Intellectual Property
Law. This internship kept me updated about the contemporary issues arising in various fields of
law. My work as an intern included a lot of research work, analysis, and Drafting. Finally at the
end of the internship every intern had to give a brief presentation. I made a presentation on the
topic “Interplay of Personality Rights and the Right to Privacy”.
As this was my first internship at a law firm, I got to see the firm culture, the variety of laws they
deal with along with the quality of strictly meeting the deadlines for all assignments. The
workplace culture is stimulating, and all the associates are young and enthusiastic about their
respective disciplines of law. They were also patient with explaining the issues to the interns
again.
Even as an intern with no experience in taxation law, the Associates made me feel at ease and
assured that I returned with enough food for thought on the subject. The internship helped
improve on my research and drafting skills. Rather than the cliché that an intern should magically
know all laws, the strategy here was to allow the intern to get as much practical knowledge of law
as possible while emphasizing the principles.
