2.1.1 Road-going
Select ‘Road-going’ when the obstacle detection system is applied to a truck and/or trailer for
example.
NOTE
For ‘Road-going’ it is mandatory that the control unit
performs a self-test when putting a vehicle into reverse.
Therefore the option ‘Hide self-test during ...’, is not
changeable.
2.1.2 Off-road
Select Off-road when if the obstacle detection system is applied to a wheel-loader for example.
NOTE
When choosing the ‘Off-road’ a 2 wire configuration is
NOT possible.
Not used
Select this option when the yellow wire is not connected.
Speed input tachograph (C3/B7)
Select this option when the yellow wire has been connected to the tachograph (C3/B7) of the
vehicle.
According the selected sensor settings the bottom or/and topside sensors will switch OFF above the
set speed.
Speed input pulstransmitter
Select this option and set the number of pulses per kilometer when the yellow wire has been
connected to the pulse transmitter of the vehicle.
According to the selected sensor settings the bottom or/and topside sensors will switch OFF above
the set speed.
Date of issue : June 2015
WARNING
Do not select the ON option in Road-going applications like trucks and trailers.
Lockable
The GS2/GS3 control unit has a signal supply output
available.
This option can be useful to switch on for example an extra
alarm lamp when detecting objects.
When the parameter ‘Lockable’ is selected and the sensors
detect an object this output will be activated and is locked
even when you remove the detected object until you switch
off the reverse input of the control.
Not Lockable
When the parameter ‘Not Lockable’ is selected and the sensors detect an object this output will be
activated and is not locked. When removing the detected object the output deactivates.
Red zone only
When the parameter ‘Red zone only’ is selected the signal supply output will only react when
detecting objects in the red zone only.
Date of issue : June 2015
All zones
When the parameter ‘All zones’ is selected the signal supply output will only react when detecting
objects in all zones.
By activation reverse
When the parameter ‘By activation reverse’ is selected, the Groeneveld alarm horn will be activated
when you activate the reverse input of the GS control unit.
Fixed level
When the parameter ‘Fixed level’ is selected you get the possibility to adjust the Groeneveld alarm
horn with a fixed level: High, Medium or Low. The Off position is useful during testing.
2.1.9 Camera
2.1.10 Buttons
You have the possibility to upload parameters from a file at your PC/laptop to
the GS control unit with this button.
You have the possibility to download parameters from the GS control unit to
a file at your PC/laptop to with this button.
After any setting changings, use this button to save settings at the GS control
unit.
Always on
When you select ‘Always on’ the Top/Side sensors start scanning when you activate the power input
of the GS control unit.
When the top/side sensors are mounted as top sensors for example at the back of your vehicle,
select ‘Top’.
When the top/side sensors are mounted as side sensors for example at the left and right side of your
vehicle, select ‘Side’.
The top or side selection is important according the bi-static working principle of the top/side
sensors.
This parameter is useful when the vehicle is fitted with a towing bar see below.
20 cm
When the parameter at ‘Digital input (Yellow wire)’ is set to ‘Speed input tachograph (C3/B7)’ or
‘Speed input pulse transmitter’ you have the possibility to set the parameter ‘Switch sensors off
above (km/h)’.
The top/side sensors will switch OFF above the set speed.
When the parameter at ‘Digital input (Yellow wire)’ is set to ‘Sensors deactivation switch’, you have
the possibility to set the parameter ‘Switch sensors on/off with “Sensors deactivation switch”‘.
When you set this parameter, the top/side sensors will switch OFF when you switch the ‘Digital in-
put (Yellow wire)’ to power and On when removing power.
(This setting was used in the past when the yellow wire was connected to a steering sensor).
When the parameter at ‘Digital input (Yellow wire)’ is set to ‘Sensors deactivation switch’, you have
the possibility to set the parameter ‘Switch sensors on/off with “Sensors deactivation switch”‘.
When you not set this parameter the top/side sensors will not react by (de-)activating the ‘Digital
input (Yellow wire)’.
When in reverse
When you select ‘When in reverse’ the bottom sensors start scanning
when you activate the reverse input of the GS control unit.
When NOT in reverse
When you select ‘When NOT in reverse’ the bottom sensors start
scanning when you deactivate the reverse input of the GS control
unit.
Always on
When you select ‘Always on’ the bottom sensors start scanning when you activate the power input
Date of issue : June 2015
250 cm
With parameter ‘Channels 3,6’ OFF/ON you have the possibility to switch off or on the inside sensors
channel 3 and 6.
This parameter is useful when the sensors are mounted in critical area. See examples.
Free area for channel 3 and 6. Critical area. Not free for channel 3 and 6.
Set ‘Channel 3,6’ to ON. Set ‘Channel 3,6’ to Off. Only when needed.
This parameter is useful when the vehicle is fitted with a towing bar (see below).

The sensitivity of the sensors can be set. Be careful, when moving the
sliders to of the sensitivity at a too low value the system will not detect all
objects. Please test the system when the sensitivity is altered.

Software version
The software version of the control unit.
Hardware version
The hardware version of the control unit.
S/N (Week-Year-Number)
The serial number of the control unit expressed in week, year and number.
BIT log size
The number of entries at the BIT log file.
Events log size
The number of entries at the Detection history log file.
Press ‘Yes’ to save these parameters and to set the GS2/GS3 control unit to process the data
according to the new parameters. (Otherwise the control unit will work according to the old
parameters after the next reset).
Date of issue : June 2015
This window contains a graphic display of the coverage area (according to the selected zones).
In the coverage area you can see all the targets detected by the GS2/GS3 control unit.
The details about a specific target can be seen in the objects list at the row with the matching target
ID.
For example
Error ‘FFF’ says that there is no communication between the laptop and the GS2/GS3 control unit.
Date of issue : June 2015
2.6 Log
In this window you can read log files of the internal memory of the GS2/GS3 control unit.
Self-test results
The results of the last X self tests (X defined by the entries of the Self test log file).
A successful self-test will be written in green color. A failed self-test will be written in red color.
Events log
The detection history of the last X seconds (X defined by the entries of the Events log file).
The content of the self test and events log files can also be deleted.
Client’s details will be written to the internal memory of the GS2/GS3 control unit.
3.1 Connections
Make sure that the In-cab display is connected to the GS2/GS3 control unit as usual, for In-cab
