Personal Statement

From young age, I had aspiration of becoming an Engineer. Chemical


Engineering had caught my attention when I had seen the outdoor plants near the
outskirts of Pune and Mumbai. I start getting curious about that how this are been
design? , Who operate the plant? , etc. and from here I start cultivating interest in
Chemical Engineering and aspire to build the career in the respective field.
Chemical Engineering is the field where Science, Mathematics and Creativity
come together to solve the real world problem

My high school years were pivotal in shaping my academic journey. Throughout


my journey, I had consistently maintained my excellent academics record. I had
demonstrated my leadership and team work qualities during the tenure of the
House President and by getting the Best house of the year shield as an
achievement. Along with my academics I had also represented my school in the
Shot Put at the DSO competitions and reach out till the district level. I had also
participated and won the intern school dance competitions.

At the Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, I had consistently


maintained the SGPA above 6.5 and had also been involved in participating in
the numerous Technical events. I had presented Review Paper in The National
Conference in “Recent Trends in the Chemical Engineering and Technology,
2022”, on “Optimization of Biodiesel from waste cooking oil”. Have had also
participated in Industrial Defined Problem in The National Conference in
“Recent Trends in the Chemical Engineering and Technology, 2024”, organised
by Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University. Was been nominated by
the college authorities for the participation in the “Smart India Hackathon 2023”
where we provided the solution for “Uncontrolled growth of Water Hyacinth in
lakes”. The above experiences had ignited my interest and curiosity to gain the
knowledge and experiences in the field of Chemical Engineering.

One of the most impactful experiences during my undergraduate studies was my


internship at Henkel Adhesives Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Kurkumbh. Over the
course of 6-7 weeks, I worked under the production department. At the Metal
Pre treatment Plant, I was tasked to overview the plant, understand unit
operations in the plant and briefly go through the Smart Factory System and
Distributed Control System. I had completed the project of Batch Cycle time
analysis. I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, working
alongside experienced engineers who provided valuable mentorship. This
experience not only reinforced my passion for chemical engineering but also
highlighted the importance of sustainable practices in industrial processes.

The Baerlochar Scholarship would help me extend my skills and learnings and
would also help me to support my project. Currently, I am in the planning stages
of an exciting project aimed at Design and optimization of a water treatment
system utilizing advanced oxidation process for effective contaminant
removal. I will be undertaking this project with the approval and then under
guidance of Dr. Sameer Deshmukh. My role in this project involves the
preliminary research, analysing the data, optimization of process and
recommending the advancements in the process.

Receiving this scholarship would also allow me to access the Lean Six Sigma
course and certification from the reputed organisation. By incorporating Lean
Six Sigma methodologies, chemical engineers can drive significant
improvements in their processes, leading to enhanced performance, reduced
costs, and higher quality outcomes. Currently, I am not at the stage to afford this
course. So if I get the support of the scholarship I will be able to upscale my skills
and outreach this skill to industrial level and would able to contribute in solving
the problems. The resources and opportunities afforded by this scholarship would
be instrumental in bringing our project to fruition and making a meaningful
impact in the field of chemical engineering.
