Overview
1Backing Up Data

The following instructions describe how to back up service and customer data on the sys-
tem.

NOTE If the Service Data file is empty, there is no need to back up the Ser-
vice Data. Skip to (Backing Up Presets / p. 10).

Backing Up Service Data 0

Use the following steps to back up the service data to the CD drive.

1. Power on the system and wait for it to boot up completely.


2. Press the Preset key to display the Preset Main Menu screen.

3. Select Service from the menu on the left side of the screen.

4. The Service Authentication Screend displays. Enter the password, then select OK to
display the Service Main Menu screen.

NOTE See (US11-104.850.01 / Software Operation) for the ID and pass-


word. If Set as Default is checked, enter the next level by clicking
OK. It is automatically set to the customer level.

5. Select Backup/Restore to display the Backup/Restore screen.

6. Select Backup from the drop down menu.

NOTE To restore service data, choose RESTORE from the menu and fol-
low the same steps used for backing up data.

7. If the CD / DVD is inserted, proceed to the next step. If the CD / DVD is not inserted, the
following message displays:

- Insert a CD / DVD
- Click OK
- Proceed to the next step.
8. Select the Service Items to back up from the Backup screen.

9. Select Backup to begin.

10. Wait until the progress bar located on the Backup/Restore screen reaches 100%.
When the progress is completed, the following message displays: Backup
completed successfully.

11. Click OK.
12. Click HOME to return to the service software main screen.

Backing Up Presets 0

Use the following instructions to back up all system Presets and QuickSet presets.

1. Power on the system and wait for the system to boot up completely.

2. Press the Preset key to display the Preset Main Menu screen.

3. Select Service from the menu on the left side of the screen. The Service Authentication
screen displays.

4. Enter the password, then select Go to display the Service Main Menu screen.

5. Select Backup/Restore to display the Service Main Menu.

6. Select Backup.
7. Check the System Preset, Quickset and M&R User Defined boxes on the Back-
up/Restore Screen.

8. Select Backup on the pop-up window to start.


The status bar displays overall backup process. When the progress bar on the
Backup/Restore screen reaches 100%, a message stating the backup is complete
displays.
9. Select Ok.
10. Select Close to exit the service software.

Backing Up the Customer Data 0

It is recommended to back up all exam and patient data to a CD before the HDD storage
becomes full.

NOTE Patient data is stored in the D:\ Drive, so it is not necessary to back
up the patient data before beginning installation of software in the
C:\ Drive. If the D:\ Drive is full or close to being full, it is recom-
mended that the data be backed up. It may slow down the system
if it is not backed up.

1. Power on the system and wait for the system to boot up completely.
2. Insert the CD into the CD-R/W drive.
3. Press Patient Browser Key to view the Study Screen.
4. Select HD in the Disk pane of the Study screen to store the selected customer data on
the CD.

5. Select Export to store the data on CD.


6. When the progress bar located below the Export box reaches the end, the progress is
completed.

7. Select Eject to eject the CD.


If the CD Status is “Unknown,” select Load to make the CD Drive recognize the CD in
the drive.

8. Confirm that the CD status changes from Unknown to Ready, see (1 - CD


Status/Fig. 15 / p. 16).

NOTE Previously a workaround to access the Window interface to back-


up patient data was available. This workaround is no longer func-
tional when using a portable HDD (such as a USB device).

4. Click SERVICE from the Service Main Menu.

5. The Service Authentication screen displays. Enter the password, then select OK to dis-
play the Service Main Menu screen.

NOTE To Restore Presets, select RESTORE from the drop down menu,
and follow the same sequence of steps for backing up data.

8. Check the System Preset, Quickset and M&R User Defined boxes on the Back-
up/Restore Screen.

9. Click Backup to start.
The status bar displays overall backup process. When the progress bar on the
Backup/Restore screen reaches 100%, a message stating the backup is complete
displays.

10. Click OK.
11. Click HOME to return to the service software main screen.

NOTE Patient data is stored on the D:\Drive, so it is not necessary to bak-


cup the patient data before beginning software installation from
the C:\Drive. If the D:\Drive is full or close to full, back up the data.
The system may slow down if data is not backed up.

4. Select HD in the Disk pane of the Study screen to store the selected customer data on
the CD.

6. Click Export, then wait for the progress bar to complete.

NOTE If the CD / DVD status is “Unknown,” make sure that the CD / DVD
is inserted, and click LOAD to recognize the CD / DVD. Confirm
that the CD / DVD status changes from Unknown to Ready.

8. Select the LICENSE items to back up.

9. Click Backup to start.
The status bar displays overall backup process. When the progress bar on the
Backup/Restore screen reaches 100%, a message stating the backup is complete
displays.

10. Click OK.
11. Click HOME to return to the service software main screen.
