PANEL DESCRIPTION
Flexi 800 lbf access floor panels having dimensions of 600 x 600 mm shall be all steel welded construction with an enclosed bottom pan of 64 hemispherical
cones. The top plain sheet is fuse welded to the bottom pan at 144 locations to form a hollow panel. The panel after required pre-treatment is coated with 40 - 60
micron epoxy paint and heated to achieve maximum adhesion to the panel surface for resistance to corrosion. The inner empty core of the panel is injected with
a light weight, non-combustible cementitious compound at high pressure to fill in all the crevices of the panel and ensure support of not less than 96% of the top
surface area of the panel. Panels shall be capable of withstanding 800 lbf point load tested as per CISCA testing procedures and conforming to Masterspecs.
SECTION 096900.

The panel has locator holes on all 4 corners, which are required to bolt the panel to substructure to form a rigid monolithic smooth levelled floor. Perimeter
flanges of the bottom pan are provided with 16 gussets which also gets filled with light weight concrete to enhance structural strength and provide rigidity to
perimeter flanges of the panel and hence to system too.

Adding gussets does not hinder the process of die cut trimming of the panels, which was also the case in our old generation models.

SALIENT FEATURES OF DIE CUT TRIMMING

1) Allows additional 60 nos. of resistance welding spots to the panel totaling to 144 nos. of spot welds in the hollow panel, the composite panel now is far
more rigid than the earlier version having only 64 spots.

2) Allows better corrosion protection to the edges of the panel in comparison to the non die cut trimmed.

3) Allows consistent gap between adjacent installed panels enhancing aesthetics (no creases in the carpet) while also ensuring lesser air leakages when used
for UFAD.

SUBSTRUCTURE - PEDESTAL & STRINGER ASSEMBLY DESCRIPTION

Sub structure installed to support the panel shall be suitable to achieve a minimum finished floor height of 65 to 2000 mm from the existing floor level. Pedestal
design shall confirm speedy assembly and removal for relocation and maintenance. The assembly shall provide easy adjustment of leveling and accurately
align panels for a maximum of ± 25 mm in the vertical direction. Pedestals shall support an axial load without permanent deflection and an ultimate load as laid
out in system performance requirement. Pedestals shall be glued to the subfloor with an adhesive, BOSTIK 9069.

Pedestal head assembly shall consist of a 75 x 75 x 3 mm embossed head mechanically riveted to a 90 mm long 5/8” dia. roll-formed stud and 2 check nuts for
level adjustment and arresting vertical movement. The pedestal head shall consist of an anti-vibrational PVC cap for panel location. Pedestal Base assembly
shall consist of 25 mm O.D. pipe of thickness 1.4 mm mechanically riveted and beaded to a 100 x 100 x 2 mm embossed pedestal base plate with stiffening
folds.

The bottom of the pipe is beaded to achieve perpendicularity & resistance to turning moment arising from lateral loading & also arresting the vertical movement
before riveting the pipe to base plate for additional stability.

Moreover, with increased pipe diameter & beading the pipe at the base plate interface the overturning moment of 113Nm is achieved as required by CISCA 2007
Section 5 and conforming to Masterspecs.

The pipe (pedestal base) will have a polycarbonate bush to engage with the threaded portion of the pedestal head. Pedestal head (Stud) shall fit snugly in to the
bush to avoid lateral movement of the pedestal head & avoid rattling noise.

The sub structure assembly shall be anchored to the floor with suitable adhesive or fastener as recommended by the consultant / manufacturer.
