SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR GRADE 4

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Identify the different landforms of the world;

b. Develop an appreciation for the different structures of the land; and

c. Draw and name the different landforms.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Landforms

References: Internet/Google

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Video clip, Answer Sheets, Marker, Coloring Materials, Flashcards

III. PROCEDURE

a. Preliminary Activities

• Prayer

• Greetings

• Checking of Attendance

b. Review of the past lesson

• The teacher will ask the students of the last topic that we tackled last meeting.

c. Motivation

• The teacher will play a video on the TV showing the song about landforms.

• Let the students sing and dance along the video.

• Ask the the students what they observed in the video.

d. Lesson Proper

• The teacher will proceed to discuss about landforms.

- Landforms are naturally formed areas of land on the surface of the Earth.

1. Mountains - are very tall landforms that rise high above the surrounding land. They are
made up of rocks and soil.
2. Hills - are smaller than mountains. They are elevated areas of land that are not as high as
mountains. Hills are sometimes rounded on the top.

3. Valleys - are low areas of land that are usually found between mountains or hills. Valleys
are often shaped like a bowl and can have rivers or streams running through them.

4. Plateaus - are flat, elevated areas of land that are higher than the surrounding land. They
are like flat-topped mountains.

5. Plains - are large, flat areas of land. They are usually low-lying and do not have many hills
or mountains.

• The teacher will ask the students if they understand the lesson.

e. Generalization

• The teacher will do a recapitulation of the topic.

• Flash some flashcards that shows various landforms and let the students name and guess.

• The teacher will ask the importance of these landforms.

f. Application

• The teacher will group the students into five groups. Each group will have ro draw and name the
five landforms then present it in front.

IV. EVALUATION

• Direction - Briefly define the given words.

1. Landforms

2. Mountains

3. Hills

. 4. Valleys

5. Plateaus

6. Plains

V. ASSIGNMENT

• Study about the continents. List the 7 continents then provide a brief description.
