can get them from any supermarket

tap water and give my final project a
little spritz before ironing. It doesn’t
matter how wet it gets because the
heat dries it. I find this spritz (if you’re
not washing the project) helps remove
creases and just helps press the fabric
and make stitches look uniform before
finishing. I do the front and back. It
removes marks from using a frame,

We have printed the bottom of Castle
Combe from issue 402 so you can
place your house correctly. Our
diagram shows its sampler placement.

Our Canterbury house’s story…

Canterbury has been a European pilgrimage site of major importance for
over 800 years since the assassination of Archbishop Thomas Becket in
1170. Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales have stood the test of more than 600
years and are known throughout the world. The pilgrims in the Canterbury
Tales followed the Pilgrim’s Way to Canterbury, to worship and make
penance at Becket’s tomb. Today it is one of the most beautiful and historic
cities in England. The medieval city centre bustles with famous name stores
and exclusive boutiques while the picturesque side streets are home to
smaller specialist shops, pubs and restaurants. Our house is a Gothic-styled
Victorian detached, constructed from distinctive local bricks. Known as
Canterbury Multi or Blend, these handmade bricks create an attractive
‘variegated’ look that lends the city considerable character.

How to… ƮQLVK

Step 1
SPACE your designs on the aida fabric,
leaving 12 blank aida squares between
each individual section. Paint the
printer’s tray with a white match pot,
using a cloth rather than a brush to rub
the colour into the wood.

Step 2
TRIM each design carefully to fit,
making sure the stitching is in the
centre, and removing one row of aida
squares at a time to get the correct fit.
Place each design in the printer’s tray
and then, using double-sided tape,
stick the designs in place.
