Speaking naturally (Part I)
Conversation

(Lucy tells her classmate Paul about a news article on train stations.)

Lucy: Have you read the news this morning? I read an article about some train stations
becoming unsafe. This worries me a bit.
Paul: I read something similar. Some passengers actually get robbed or get hurt inside train
stations. It is worrying. Train stations should provide better safety measures to safeguard
passengers.
Lucy: Exactly. Many people go in and out of train stations every single day, and they should
always feel safe.

Conversation
Paul: Well, there are staff who check people’s bags and pockets in most train stations.
However, I think this isn’t enough. Personally, I think there should be scanners and metal
detectors in every entrance.
Lucy: More cameras should also be placed both inside and outside the stations.
Paul: Right. That’s a good way for the staff to see everyone who goes in and out of the station.
Lucy: It’s also a way to make passengers feel that they are really in safe hands when they
travel.
Paul: Yes. If that happens, they can rest assured that they’ll be safe.
