    DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY

    GOVERNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE, CHH. SAMBHAJINAGAR

    Pathology department is one of the key diagnostic disciples in hospital set-up and also
    foundation of undergraduate curriculum; acting as a link between patient and doctor through
    diagnostic and prognostic work up. The department also serves as bridge for preclinical &
    clinical subjects for undergraduate curriculum.
    The department runs courses for M.B.B.S, B.D.S., B.P.M.T, Nursing, PG DMLT & M.D.
    students and actively participates in teaching activities. The department also promotes research
    work and encourages students for participation in conferences, CMEs, workshops.

    MISSION

    To provide quality services for diagnostic tests of the patient & to help students in
    gaining knowledge, acquiring skills & developing attitudes.

    VISION

    To be an excellent academic Pathology department with effective, efficient teaching


    approaches, facilitating research activities, providing better patient care by utilizing available
    resources that will meet needs of patients, Institute and society.

    -Conducted CME on Role of Liquid based cytology (LBC) in cervical cancer screening held on

    April- 2019.

    - Regional Quiz Competition September- 2019

    - Conducted CME on Histotechniques December -2018.

    - Conducted CME on diagnostic utility of flowcytometry in Leukemia and lymphoma in

    December- 2017

    - Conducted workshop on research methodology for P.G Students in June-2015

    - Department has conducted national conference APCON in Dec. 2013.

    iii) Distribution of plants to voluntary blood donors

    vi) As a part of social responsibility, organisation of Blood donation camp by resident doctors
    during shortage of blood stock
