BREAKFAST CLUB RE-OPENS MONDAY 9TH JANUARY Our Breakfast Club will re-start on Monday 9th January and Key Stage 2 children (Year 3 and above) are invited to join us for a healthy breakfast. Many children enjoy attending our breakfast club each morning for which Greggs are providing all the consumables free of charge. However, the clubs continued success relies on the support from the volunteers who turn up each morning to help butter the toast etc. If you feel you could offer to help, even if it is not every week, then this might determine the clubs continued success. Please contact the school office if you feel you can offer your support. Thank you. WINTER IN POLAND Witajcie, to znowu my. To nasz trzeci wpis do pamietnika. Mamy duzo sniegu w zimowe miesiace, tzn. w grudniu, styczniu, lutym i czasem zima trwa do marca. Temperatury moga spasc do minus 20 stopni Celsjusza. Wtedy jeziora i rzeki zamarzaja.
Hello, it is us again. This is our third Diary entry. This week we will tell you about winter in Poland. Winter in Poland is very different than it is in England because it is very cold and snowy. We have a lot of snow in winter months which are December, January, February and sometimes it lasts until March. The temperatures may drop to minus 20 degrees Celsius. Then lakes and rivers freeze. People go ice skating and go on the sled. It is good to find a hill or a slope to slide on. When it is very cold and it is snowing children like to look through the window and watch the white snowflakes falling down onto the ground. If it is not too cold children make a snowman and throw snowballs at each other, having a good time. Some people go skiing in the mountains in the south of Poland. Zakopane is the winter capital of Poland. Its a lovely town situated in the mountains where many people go on holiday. On the 6th January people celebrate Three Wise Men festival. It commemorates the event when three Wise Men came to Bethlehem to see baby Jesus. In Poland its a day off work and school. Instead people go to church to pray. CROSSING LITTLEMOOR LANE AND PARKING We now have a new Crossing Patrol Warden, so please impress on your children that they should use the warden when they try to cross the road. Again we are asking that you park sensitively when you bring and collect your children, bearing in mind not blocking our neighbours drives or double parking and causing problems for children trying to cross the roads. Additionally, please do not park ON the pavement, as buggies and wheelchairs need the space on the footpath, as well as it being dangerous for children if you try to drive on the path. Thank you for your co-operation.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR NEWSLETTER We are encouraging the children to contribute to our weekly newsletter with stories, pictures and items of interest they have done in the classroom our outside school. The contributions this week are from Year 3, Violet & Ruby classes. Look out for more class contributions in the coming weeks
