LP Energy Source
LP Energy Source
I. Objectives:
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of how energy is harnessed.
B. Performance The learners should be able to make a creative representation of the historical
Standard development of the atom or the chemical element in a timeline
C. Most Essential Learning At the end of the lesson the learner should be able to:
Competencies
1. Describe how energy is harnessed from different sources:
A. Fossil fuels
B. Biogas
C. Geothermal
D. Hydrothermal
E. Batteries
F. Solar cells
G. Biomass
B1. Explicit Reading of At the end of the lesson the learner should be able to:
the Objectives/Explicit
a. differentiate renewable and non-renewable sources of energy;
c. give a brief summary of how energy is produced from different sources; and
d. outline the pros and cons of different sources of energy.
B2. Introduction of the The teacher will ask the following questions:
Lesson 1. What is energy?
2. Enumerate the types of energy
The teacher will ask the class to classify the types of energy into renewable and non-
renewable
C. Modelling The class will be divided into 7 groups
Each group will be asked to illustrate and describe the process on how a certain energy
source is harnessed/utilized.
Each group will select representative/s
The teacher will probe the discussion by correcting the misconceptions and explaining the
correct processes and principles with the use of videos and simulations.
D. Guided Practice Activity: Complete me.
In pairs, the students will fill in the boxes with the correct processes on how energy
is harnessed and its end product based on the illustration.
D1. Processing of the The teacher will ask the students (in groups) of the merits and demerits of using
Guided Activity each type of energy by completing the table below:
V. REMARKS

this subject. To be filled up
after the lesson.)
