Forests are very useful. They supply lumber which is used for building
houses, stories, offices, and other buildings. Some forest trees give materials for
making pulp, paper, wallboard and furniture, rattan, gum, and firewood.
Medicinal plants are also taken from forests.
The government and every community are duly bounded to conserve
forests. Cutting of young trees and clearing of land through kaingin must be
strictly prohibited. Planting of new trees to replace those that have been cut
should be observed. Further studies to improve forest conservation is therefore
desired.
