This calls the professionals in accounting and finance to get in touch with the advancement in science and technology. Course Thus, this course is designed to acquaint students with some of the basic applications Description software that are commonly used by accounting and finance professionals for different organizations. The course initially introduces students with the application of excel or the spreadsheet in accounting, and then, dwells much on Peachtree accounting. Basics of Peachtree accounting software Overview of the Peachtree accounting software Creating a company Setting up general ledger accounts 7,8,9 Setting up customers Setting up vendors Setting up inventory Setting up payroll Setting up jobs 4: Managing transactions in Peachtree Customer transactions 10,11,12,13 Vendor transactions Inventory transactions Payroll transactions 5: managing tasks and generating reports in Peachtree General journal and banking tasks 14,15,16 Other tasks and transactions Generating reports Widely used accounting software’s are covered The teaching and learning methodology include lecturing, discussions, Teaching & problem solving, and Learning analysis. Take-home assignment will be given at the end of each chapter for Methods/strategy submission Within a week. Solution to the assignments will be given once assignments are collected. Cases with local relevance will also be given for each chapter for group of students to present in a class room. The full and active participation of students is highly encouraged.
