5. State 5 facts about the British Crime Survey. a. The British Crime Survey (BCS) is one of the largest social research surveys conducted in England and Wales. b. Over 51,000 people aged 16 and over are interviewed every year. 47,000 people are interviewed in the main survey. c. Around 1,000 interviews are carried out in each police force area. The overall response rate is currently 75 per cent one of the highest for the large continuous government surveys. d. In January 2009 the survey was extended to include 4,000 interviews with children aged 10 to15 each year. e.
