R1.COAXIAL CABLE
 A coaxial cable is a type of shielded and insulated copper cable
that is used in computer networks and to deliver cable TV
services to end users.
 Coaxial cable is also known as coax, which is derived from the
geometric axis created between a shield and insulator.

 A coaxial cable is used by cable TV service providers to stretch

transmission lines from their branch or control offices to
residential and business subscribers.

It consists of four primary components, as follows:

 A core copper wire, which serves as the primary channel

 A dielectric plastic insulator, which surrounds the copper
 A braided copper/aluminum sheath beneath the insulator. This
is used to protect from external electromagnetic interference.
 The last layer, which is made of Teflon or plastic coating, is
used to protect the inner layers from physical damage, such as
fire and water.

 Coaxial cables tend to carry signals at a greater distance and are a

good choice for weak signals, due to their layered protection.
There are several types of coaxial cables, which are classified by
the inner copper core diameter and number of protective sheaths.
2. TWISTED CABLE

A twisted pair cable is a type of cable made by putting two separate

insulated wires together in a twisted pattern and running them
parallel to each other. This type of cable is widely used in different
kinds of data and voice infrastructures.

Twisted pair cabling is a type of wiring in which two conductors of a

single circuit are twisted together for the purposes of improving
electromagnetic compatibility.
3. OPTICAL FIBRE

An optical fiber is a flexible, transparent strand of very pure glass

that acts as a light pipe to transmit light between two ends of the
fiber. Optical fibers have a core surrounded by a cladding layer
made of dielectric material. The optical signals in the core are
confined by establishing a refractive index that is greater than the
cladding
Optical fibers is used as a medium for telecommunication and
networking. Light in a fiber optic cable travels through a core by
constantly bouncing from the cladding, a principle termed total
internal reflection. As the cladding does not absorb any light from
the core, light waves travel longer distances. Fibers with a sizable
core diameter may be analyzed by geometrical optics. These fibers
are called multi-mode fiber.
4. UNDERGROUND AND OVERHEAD CABLES

Underground cable is placed into ducts which are being built

below the ground surface. In urban areas where space for
telecommunications cable is limited, it needs to be used more
efficiently. In underground installation, the conduit provides
protection from both physical and environmental abuse. The conduit
protects cable from shifting rocks, aggressive rodents, and/or
damage from hand shovels. Underground cable that is in conduit is
easy to replace or upgrade
An overhead cable is a cable for the transmission of information, laid
on utility poles.

Usage Phones, ADSL lines, modem Computer networking. RJ45 is used

cables. RJ11 is mostly used in Ethernet Cables or
for voice applications. connecting cable modems with Wi-Fi
routers.

Bandwidth RJ11 connectors can support RJ45 connectors can support 10Gbps
about 24Mbps over Ethernet, provided the other
equipment like network cables also
support that speed.

B-CONNECTORS

B connectors are used for splicing copper wire in order to continue

an electrical connections. These are used for tapping and splicing
telephone wires. These are meant to be used to splice phone cable,
not network cable like Cat5E or Cat6. The connections are called
IDC connections. IDC stands for Insulation Displacement
Connection. This type of connection allows you to create a gas tight
seal. This helps you avoid any kind of corrosion.
Three-pin plug

A 3 pin plug consists of three pins (hence the name). Each pin must
be correctly connected to the three wires in the electrical cable. Each
wire has its own specified colour so as it can be easily identified.
The LIVE wire is BROWN .The NEUTRAL wire is BLUE.The
EARTH wire is GREEN & YELLOW.
Male coaxial cable connector

50 Ohm Coaxial Cable with SMA-Male and N-Male Connector is

available in lengths of 3 ft. to 100 ft. These Low-Loss Coaxial
Extension Cables (50 Ohm) have SMA-Male connector on one end
and a N-Male connector on other end. 50 Ohm Coaxial Cable with
SMA-Male and N-Male Connectors are used for LTE, 4G, 3G,
ADS-B, GPS, HAM and RF Radio applications when connecting to
a surge arrester or antenna. They serve as excellent jumper cables in
various applications that include:
Antennas for 3G, 4G, and LTE.
Amplifiers, Routers, and Cellular Modems.
F Connectors
The F connector or F-type connector is a form of coax cable
connector that is widely used with domestic television
equipment. The F connector is cheap and can perform to frequencies
in excess of 2 GHz making it ideal for terrestrial and satellite links
between antennas / down-converters or LNBs and the television
itself.
BNC Connectors

The BNC was originally designed for military use and has gained
wide acceptance in video and RF applications to 2 GHz. The BNC
uses an outer conductor with slots and some plastic dielectric on
each gender connector. This dielectric causes increasing losses at
higher frequencies. Above 4 GHz, the slots may radiate signals, so
the connector is usable, but not necessarily stable up to about 11
GHz. Both 50 ohm and 75 ohm versions are available.
Amphenol connectors

Amphenol RF offers a broad range of radio

frequency connectors including industry standard designs and
highly engineered Amphenol RF proprietary interfaces.
RF connectors range in size from ultra miniature to large-form
factor and are available in various PCB mounted, SMT and through
hole, and crimp, clamp and solder coaxial cable termination styles.

Choke Block

A choke is an inductor used to block higher-frequency alternating currents

while passing direct current (DC) and lower-frequencies alternating
current (AC) in an electrical circuit. A choke usually consists of a coil of
insulated wire often wound on a magnetic core, although some consist of a
doughnut-shaped "bead" of ferrite material strung on a wire. The choke's
impedance increases with frequency. Its low electrical resistance passes both
AC and DC with little power loss, but its reactance limits the amount of AC
passed. The name comes from blocking—"choking"—high frequencies while
passing low frequencies. It is a functional name; the name "choke" is used if an
inductor is used for blocking or decoupling higher frequencies, but the
component is simply called an "inductor" if used in electronic filters or tuned
circuits.
