Idioms:
1. A storm in a teacup - A big fuss about something trivial.
2. To take the bull by the horns - To confront a problem directly.
3. Piece of cake/walk in the park - Something very easy.
4. To go back to the drawing board - To start over with a fresh approach.
5. Time was racing like sand from a time box - This is a creative variation; you
could also use "time flew by" or "time slipped away" for clarity.
Barking up the wrong tree - To pursue the wrong course of action or make a false
assumption.
Example: If he thinks she will change her mind, he’s barking up the wrong tree.
Cut corners - To do something in the easiest or cheapest way, often at the expense
of quality.
Example: The contractor cut corners to save money, which led to major issues down
the line.
Similes:
1. Mind spun like a whirlwind of confusion - Compares the mind’s confusion to a
whirlwind.
2. Voice like thunder rumbled through the darkness - Compares the voice to thunder.
3. Leaves caught in a gentle autumn breeze - Compares the movement of leaves to the
breeze.
Metaphors:
1. Her heart heavy with the weight of what was to come - Compares the heart’s
emotional burden to physical weight.
2. Confronting the forgotten past was a bittersweet relief - Compares the act of
confronting the past to a bittersweet relief.
3. Anxiety gripped my heart - Compares anxiety’s effect to a physical grip.
4. Worry felt like a heavy stone pressing on my chest - Compares worry to a heavy
stone.
5. Ghostly whispers echoed in the thick apprehensive air - Compares whispers to
ghosts.
