conditions to be met for it to work
properly:
Native VLAN: If the router port is
connected to a trunk port, it will typically only receive untagged traffic, which is the traffic on the native VLAN of the switch. If the DHCP server is on the same VLAN (native VLAN or the router is configured to understand tagged traffic), the DHCP client (the router port) will receive its configuration.
VLAN Configuration on Router: If
the DHCP server is on a different VLAN, the router must have subinterfaces configured for each VLAN with 802.1Q tagging enabled so that it can correctly interpret and send traffic for different VLANs.
