Activity 1.2
1. What does your list/inventory tell you about the top 5 to 10 products that you use each
day at home?

Based on the inventory, the top 5 products used daily are:

a) Soap
b) Shampoo
c) Deodorant
d) Toothpaste
e) Liquid Detergent

2. How do you feel? Are you saddened or overwhelmed by the result?

The inventory may not be overwhelming, but it may be enlightening. It draws attention to the
frequency with which particular products are used, raising concerns about their environmental
impact. This may cause anxiety or a desire for change.

3. How would you manage to tell your parents about the result and suggest alternatives?

I'd approach my family members during relaxed time and gently describe the inventory I'd created.
I'd want to express my thoughts on how frequently we use these things and examine their
environmental effect. Then, I'd advise that we move to more sustainable choices jointly, such as
utilizing refillable containers or purchasing companies with eco-friendly packaging. Framing it as a
tiny, doable adjustment we can make as a family may make them more comfortable with the
concept.

4. Is there a need to change the consumption patterns?

Yes, I believe there’s a need to change our consumption patterns, but it doesn't have to be drastic.
By examining our daily products, we can make small, manageable changes. For example, we
could start by choosing products with less packaging or trying out brands that focus on
sustainability. Even small shifts, like using bar soap instead of liquid or buying in bulk, can make a
difference over time. This approach feels more achievable and can lead to healthier habits without
overwhelming ourselves.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF HUMAN BEINGS WITH NATURE

The
Interconnectedness of
Humans and Nature

The graphic design shows the relationship or the interconnectedness of human beings with
nature. The left side shows the impact of human on nature that includes the negative and
positive human activities. Human activity has profoundly impacted the natural environment,
often leading to destruction that threatens ecosystems and biodiversity. Human activities
that contribute to environmental degradation, including pollution, deforestation, and climate
change. On the positive side, human activities include conservation efforts such as wildlife
protection laws, sustainable practices such as organic farming, and reforestation such as
restoration of native habitats and community tree-planting activity.

On the right side shows the influence of nature to humans that includes the physical health
through providing natural resources, emotional and psychological well-being, and
ecosystem services. Nature provides natural resources such as air, water, food, medicine,
and raw materials in order for humans to survive in this world. Spending time with nature
help humans to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It improves mood and enhance
overall mental health. The natural environment offers opportunities for recreation, reflection,
and connection. Nature provides vital ecosystem services, such as pollination of crops,
nutrient cycling, and climate regulation. These services are essential for agriculture, clean
water supply, and overall ecological balance.

In conclusion, humans cannot live without nature. Humans rely on nature for essential
resources such as air, water, food, and raw materials in order to survive. As human, it is
our duty and responsibility to protect our nature and nurture it. Our well-being is
fundamentally intertwined with the health of the environment. By recognizing and embracing
our responsibility to our nature, we can create a more sustainable and harmonious future
for all living beings.

Activity 2.1
1.What was the video all about?

- The video focuses on keystone species and environmental concepts, which are thought to be
crucial for preserving and balancing the environment. It also covered the ecological community,
which is made up of plants and animals that coexist peacefully. Known as the largest actor in the
ecological ecosystem, keystone species were also covered. Fruit-eaters and predators will both
disappear if the keystone species disappears, which will have a significant impact on the entire
biological ecosystem. Considering how interconnected everything is, humans will also be
significantly impacted.

2. From the seven environmental principles, which do you think bears the most importance? Why?

- "HUMANS ARE STEWARDS OF NATURE" is one of the seven environmental concepts that, in
my opinion, are most significant. Among all the living species on Earth, humans are the most
intelligent and fortunate. Because of our capacity to care for the environment, humans are the
stewards of nature. It is our duty as humans to maintain the harmony and well-being of nature.
Humans should return the items they have gathered from nature to their original location. To
ensure future use, for instance, we could plant trees in exchange for those that are taken down for
product production.

3. Can you give an example of environmental law that you may know something about?

- The Republic Act 9003 - The Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 seeks to develop
and adapt the best eco-waste products in order to guarantee the appropriate separation,
collection, storage, treatment, and disposal of solid waste. Additionally protected by this regulation
are public health and environmental safety.
Activity 2.3
ENVIRONMENTAL PRINCIPLE CONCRETE EXAMPLE
1. Everything changes The Philippines experiences changes
in weather patterns due to climate
change, such as stronger typhoons
and unpredictable rainfall, affecting
agriculture.

2. All forms of life are important In Palawan, the protection of

endangered species like the
Philippine eagle and sea turtles is
vital for biodiversity and tourism,
showcasing the importance of all life
forms.

3. Everything is connected to Illegal logging in Luzon leads to

everything else deforestation, causing landslides and
floods downstream, which affect
agriculture, local communities, and
infrastructure.

4. Everything changes Urbanization in Metro Manila has

transformed many rural areas into
highly populated urban zones, which
has led to changes in land use and
increased pollution levels.

5. Everything must go somewhere The waste management problem in

the Philippines is evident in the
massive amounts of plastic waste
ending up in Manila Bay and other
bodies of water, affecting marine life
and the ecosystem.

6. Ours is a finite earth The depletion of resources like

freshwater and fertile land in certain
parts of the Philippines highlights the
need for sustainable practices, such
as water conservation and organic
farming.

7. Nature is beautiful and wonderful, The Banaue Rice Terraces and the
and we are stewards of God’s Tubbataha Reefs are examples of the
creation Philippines' natural wonders,
reminding Filipinos of their
responsibility to preserve these
treasures for future generations.

Desccription:

In my vision of an ideal forest, a lush tapestry of trees stands tall, their vibrant greens creating a
breathtaking panorama. Everywhere you look, rich grass carpets the ground, interspersed with
colorful wildflowers that not only beautify the landscape but also offer numerous health benefits.
This picturesque setting is a sanctuary where one can escape the worries of daily life, breathing in
the fresh air and feeling an overwhelming sense of tranquility. I envision a place where my
grandchildren can roam freely, connecting with nature and appreciating the beauty and serenity it
provides for generations to come.
