Good morning! Today I will present to you "The Canterville
Ghost" by Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde was a famous writer from Ireland. He wrote
clever books and plays like "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Importance of Being Earnest." People liked him because he was funny and charming. But he had some problems because he loved someone that others didn't like. Still, many people love his stories and remember him as a great writer.
Now I'm going to talk about the mane characters
1. Sir Simon de Canterville: The ghost who lives in Canterville Chase and tries to scare the Otis family. 2. Mr. and Mrs. Otis: An American couple who move into Canterville Chase and don't believe in ghosts. 3. Virginia Otis: Their daughter, who wants to help the ghost 4. Washington Otis: Their son, not scared of the ghost and enjoys playing tricks on him. 5. The Twins (Stars and Stripes): boys who like to tease the ghost.
"The Canterville Ghost" is a funny story by Oscar Wilde. It's
about a ghost named Sir Simon who lives in a big old house called Canterville Chase. When an American family, the Otises, moves in, they're not scared of the ghost at all. Instead, they make fun of him and play tricks on him. The ghost tries really hard to scare them, but nothing works because the Otises are too practical and modern. Eventually, the ghost gets tired of trying and just wants to find peace. With the help of Virginia, the Otis's daughter, he tells his sad story and finally moves on.
In short, "The Canterville Ghost" is a funny story about a
ghost and a family. It teaches us to be kind and not scared of things that seem scary. Wilde's writing makes it a fun and easy story to like, showing us that being nice is important, no matter what.
In my opinion, I really enjoyed reading the book and I
recommend others to read it too. It relates the supernatural to humans, which makes the story very interesting. I hope you enjoyed and tanks for listening my oral apresentation.
