Regarding snow and wind loads, you'll find detailed information in the Snow
and Wind 2D/3D dialog box within the Loads menu. By pressing the Auto button, you can automatically generate the structure envelope for inactive options, including the generation of snow/wind loads and definition of basic parameters. For active options, press the Parameters button to define more detailed parameters for snow/wind loads. In the
Global parameters tab, you'll need to specify the department (Alpes-Maritimes), altitude above sea level (200 meters), structure height (15 meters), reference level (0.8 meters), and rise of roof (automatic). Once you've defined your global parameters, you can proceed to the Wind tab for defining wind load parameters or the Snow tab for defining
snow load parameters. Pressing the Generate button will initiate the generation of snow and wind loads with the accepted parameters. Upon completion of these calculations, you'll receive a calculation note on screen that presents the parameters of snow/wind load cases. After closing the editor with the calculation note, the upper bar of the RSAP
program will display the message "Results (FEM) : available," indicating that your structural analysis calculations are complete. Finally, detailed analysis is commenced for structure bars selected in the graphical viewer. The monitor screen splits into two parts: a graphical viewer presenting the structure model and a Detailed Analysis dialog box
where you can select quantities to be presented for the selected load case. By opening an additional window and selecting MY Moments on the NTM tab, you'll gain access to a more detailed graphical viewer that includes information diagrams, loads, and bar sections. Selecting bars and a table for numerical results obtained for selected bars in the
Detailed Analysis dialog box. In this selection, choose beam, Select Maximum Stress Smax on the Stresses tab, Select Characteristic Points on the Division Points tab, and refresh by applying these options. To add new quantities to be presented for the selected beam, select Global Extremes tab in the Activates presentation of global extremes obtained
for the table-selected beam (see figure below). Exit the viewer after presenting the detailed analysis of the selected beam. Next, select the initial RSAP layout, then proceed to the Structure Model/Start Layout. Open the Results menu and select Global Analysis-Beginning of the global analysis of all bars in the Bars structure. A new graphical viewer
appears with a table presenting numerical results. To customize the table, open the Parameters of Presentation windows dialog box and on the Stresses tab, deactivate all check boxes. Select quantities for which global analysis will be presented on the Design tab, activate the Ratio option, and set the upper limit to 1.0. Close the graphical viewer with
global analysis presented. For steel design using CM66 code, proceed to Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010 page: 30. The RSAP program layout selection is commenced. The monitor screen is divided into three parts: the graphical viewer, Definitions dialog box, and Calculations design Layout dialog box. Define member groups by
clicking on the New button in the Definitions dialog box. Define two groups: the first for columns (1-9) with material ACIER, and the second for beams (10-15) also with material ACIER. Save these parameters. Next, open the group design line in the Code Group Selection dialog box and select All members to be designed. Open the Load Case Selection
dialog box and proceed by selecting the field above the Previous button. Close the loads group. Using Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional (RSAP), select the first three load cases and close the option for optimization group design. This will activate the optimization procedures and ultimate limit state, while deactivating saving calculation
options. In the Calculations dialog box, a CM66 - Code Group Design dialog box will appear on the RSAP page 31. Here, change all profiles in members belonging to both groups to calculated sections shown above, accepting warnings for columns from HEA 300 to HEA 240 and beams about changing from HEA 300 to HEA 450. Once sections are
changed, the upper bar of RSAP will display a message saying 'Results (FEM) : out of date.' Close the Code Group Design dialog box, select the Calculations icon, and recalculate the structure with changed member sections. The results status will change back to available in the upper bar. For re-designing selected member groups, activate
optimization options in the Calculations dialog box and a Short Results Viewer will appear. Change all profiles in members belonging to both groups again, accepting warnings about possible changes. Recalculate the structure with changed member sections once more. The results status will change back to available in the upper bar. If calculated
sections do not change during group design, they are considered optimal for designing member groups. Repeat this re-design process until desired results are seen on page 32 of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010. Finally, select members to be verified in the Calculations dialog box and verify selected structure members by clicking
the Calculations button. This will start verification of selected structure members with a Short Results Viewer appearing during the process. The Dimensions tab allows you to set the length and height of the truss. You can also define these dimensions graphically in the LMC viewer by using the Length and Height
fields. On the Sections tab, you assign a specific section to each part of the truss (top chords, bottom chords, diagonals, etc.). The Insert tab is used to set the beginning node of the truss, which can also be done graphically by indicating coordinates for that point. To create the structure, click "Apply" after entering all the necessary data. If needed, you
can modify any information before clicking "OK." Once finished, the defined truss appears on the screen. This process is part of Autodesk's Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010 software and is used to set up more complex structural models. In addition to defining main structures, the software allows for various additional definitions that
enhance its functionality. For instance, you can add auxiliary nodes through the Edit menu or by dividing existing bars into segments based on either a predefined distance or specific coordinates marked along their length. The Division dialog box facilitates this process by allowing you to set where these divisions should be. Moreover, defining
brackets on beams and supports for structures are essential features in the software. These can be done graphically by selecting specific points on the model or through predefined options within menus like Geometry and Supports. The software also accommodates the definition of geometrical imperfections which can affect the structural analysis
results. This is particularly useful for analyzing real-world scenarios where such factors might influence the performance of a structure. Each step, from defining basic parameters to setting up more complex features, contributes to creating a detailed model that can be analyzed by Autodesk's Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010. Defined
imperfections include **(automatic imperfection type)**, selecting **(column LMC) for** the defined attributes. In the graphical viewer, select **During_Assembly** to define imperfections for the bottom truss chord (bar no. 5). The Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010 page: 41 highlights the geometrical imperfections dialog box.
Load case definition involves restoring a default set of attribute displays and selecting load types through the Load Types dialog box. Nature fields include **(Live)**, which opens to select live load cases such as DL1 or LL1. For generated cases, select **DL1** for self-weight loads and enter uniform values (pZ: {-3} kN/m) applied to specific bars
(1267 Apply). Select the **LL1** live load case, then define nodal forces (X: {10} kN, Z: {-100} kN). In the Load Definition dialog box, select **Wind** and press **Auto** to generate external structure envelopes for snow/wind loads. The Bay spacing field is set to 6 m, and Total depth is set to 30. Close the Snow and Wind 2D/3D dialog box after
generating new load cases. Automatic code combinations generation selects full automatic combinations according to EN 1990:2002, switching off ACC and FEU options. The Combinations tab generates full code combinations after static structure calculations. #### Structural Analysis Menu Calculations Runs calculations. The Results menu opens
the stress table. Autodesk's Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010 page 43: The Global extremes tab calculates maximal stresses in bars, located at the bottom of the table area. In the top right corner of the table, LMC closes the table. The File menu allows for saving and opening the dialog box. Enter the example name in the File name field,
e.g., Frame_EC3. LMC saves the example using the default format RTD (Robot Technical Data). #### Elasto-Plastic Analysis An additional analysis will be performed to assess accidental hits on workshop columns by overhead traveling cranes. In this case, plastic range considerations are made for the structural analysis. #### Load Case Definitions
The Loads menu allows for defining load types. LMC deletes all load cases and defines a new one with default nature and standard name DL1. Close the Load Types dialog box. The Loads menu opens the Load Definition dialog box. Select Nodal Force loads and define their values: * X: {120} (kN) * Z: {0} LMC adds a nodal load to model accidental
forces from an overhead traveling crane, affecting node no. 18. Close the Load Definition dialog box. #### Structural Analysis Analysis menu runs calculations. Locate the cursor on extreme columns and open context menus for detailed information about bar no.1. Perform simplified design checks using code verification options; as seen, it does not
satisfy conditions. Close Bar properties dialog boxes. #### Change of Bar Sections For Elasto-Plastic analysis: * Open the Sections dialog box. * Select the current section (HEA 240). * Define a new section (HEA 240EP) with elasto-plastic analysis enabled. * Accept warnings on result status changes. * Repeat for external columns using IPE 240EP
sections.ARTICLE In Autodesk's Robot Structural Analysis Professional 2010, users navigate to the TYPE field and select Column Selects bar properties LMC in the SECTION field. Here, they choose the section type HEA 260 for page 48. The Beginning field is set to define structure columns, with three columns defined: one between Grids A1-A3
(Beginning: (0,0) End: (0,5)), another between Grids E1-E3 (Beginning: (12,0) End: (12,5)), and the third between Grids C1-C2 (Beginning: (6,0) End: (6,3)). Users then close the Bars dialog box 4.1.2 Library Structure Definition. They select the Library Structure icon from the Structural Model toolbar to define a library structure, choosing the Roof
option. This opens the Typical structures dialog box where users can merge a structure, starting with the triangular truss of type 1. In the Dimensions tab, they set the Length L field to {12} and Height H field to {1.5}, defining truss parameters. The Number of fields field is set to {8} to divide the truss into specific parts. On the Sections tab, users
assign sections (DCED 90x10) to all truss chords and (CAE 70x7) to diagonals and posts. They insert the truss at point A3 with coordinates (0,0,5), applying the changes in the Merge structure dialog box. Finally, users open the Releases dialog box, selecting Pinned- as the release type for the truss bar. They highlight the truss bar, noting that arrows
appear on it to indicate the highest truss post. The pinned connection remains at the first node, while a fixed connection is defined at the second one. The releases are significant for the overall structural integrity. Assign truss chords and diagonals with specific materials: DCED 90x10 for upper and lower chords, CAE 70x7 for diagonals and posts.
Insert a point at (0,0,2) in the Insert tab to define the insertion node for the truss. Select structure bars 108, 112, and 116, delete them by pressing Delete and applying only the selected removal. Open the Supports dialog box from the Structural Model toolbar. Select nodes 1, 3, and 5, then hold down the left mouse button to select lower column
nodes at structural axis level 1. Choose a fixed support type for these nodes and apply it by pressing Apply. Close the Supports dialog box after completion.
