Đây là đoạn tóm lược những đặc điểm (features)/ khuynh hướng (trends) chính và quan trọng nhất
trong biểu đồ, quy trình hay bản đồ. Độ dài từ 2-3 câu. Thường là đoạn để giám khảo biết chúng ta
phân tích như thế nào cho biểu đồ được giao.
1. Lựa chọn những đặc điểm chính xác
Đối với biểu đồ động, ta sẽ tìm xu thế nổi bật (tăng. Giảm, không đổi) còn đối với biểu đồ tĩnh,
ta tìm những đặc điểm nôi bật để sau đưa ra so sánh và đối chiếu với nhau.
2. Đối với biểu đồ động, để tìm được xu thế chung, cần trả lời các câu hỏi sau:
 Số liệu thay đổi ntn từ năm đầu cho đến năm cuối
 Số liệu nhìn chung tăng, giảm hay ít dao động?
 Có khác biệt nào đáng kể trong xu hướng chung của biều đồ không?
 Giá trị đạt đỉnh và chạm đáy?
3. Đối với biểu đồ tĩnh, cần trả lời các câu hỏi sau:
 Giá trị lớn nhất và nhỏ nhất là gì?
 Những khác biệt nào đáng chú ý nhất
 Có sự tương đồng nào trong các số liệu ko
 Có trường hợp ngoại lệ không
