• Responsible for maintaining the integrity , safety and efficiency of the sterile field throughout the operation. • Directly reports to OR Head Nurse regarding all nursing issues, procedures &nursing quality assurance protocol. • Providing nursing care for patients within the Operating Room Department.
• Prepare all equipments and materials depend upon the procedure.
• Positioning and preparation of the operating table as required by the surgical team.
• Maintain count of sponges, needles and instruments.
• Maintain cleanliness, sterility and availability for proper function of the equipment& supplies in the operating room. • Ensures that the specimen were handled properly followed standard precautionsby using personal protective equipment when required. • Sharing,labeling &dispatching of laboratory specimen • Acting as circulating member in the theatre. • Assisting in compiling the operation register &compilation of procedure manuals. • Cleaning,care and day to day /weekly maintenance of all equipment in general use in the OR.
