e Course CATALOG DESCRIPTION Successful completion of this course assures a knowledge of the Call of the Hebrew Patriarchs, the giving of the Covenant, the deliverance of the Hebrew people from Egyptian slavery, the subsequent journey into the Promised Land, and the establishing of the people as a nation under Saul, David, and Solomon. Profiles of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, and Joshua are included. Important events and persons are studied. Arnold and Bryan E. Beyer Publisher Holy Bible (students may choose their own translation) GENERAL EDUCATIONAL GOALS To acquire a working knowledge of the literature of the Jewish people. To acquire a basic understanding of the history of the nation of Israel. To develop an understanding of Gods covenant relationship with his people. To understand how the Old Testament points to the New Testament and coming of Jesus Christ. METHODS OF ASSESSMENT The students success will be determined by posts to the discussion board, quizzes, and a final exam. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES GRADING: 8 Quiz Grades- 8 X 25 points for 200 possible points. Quiz 9 is optional and replaces the lowest quiz. 2 Proctored Exams- 2 X 100 for 200 possible points 4 Journal Assignments- 4 X 25 for 100 possible points

Total Points PossiblE- 500 points GRADING SCALE: 450 points and higher (90%) 400-449 points (80%) 350-399 points (70%) 300-349 points (60%) Below 300 points ATTENDANCE Each student is expected to login to the Blackboard website on a weekly basis to complete weekly assignments. ASSIGNMENTS Assigned reading according to online course instructions is required and comprehensive tests for each unit (two of the five are proctored) will be given along with a final (proctored and not comprehensive). Journal posts are required weekly. All assignments can be completed earlier than the assigned due date but not later.
