    A River’s Tale

    1.What is the colour of the river when it begins?

     Water has no colour itself.It is transparent in nature.when


    we see river from a distance it generally looks bluish in
    colour.
    2.At which places did the colour of the water in the river
    change?Why did this happen?Discuss.

     When the river passes through villages and cities and


    towns the colour of the water changes.
     It happened because of pollution that made by the people
    by throwing waste material into the river.
    3.What can be done to keep the river clean ?
    There are so many ways to keep the river clean.
     Pepole who live near the riverside should not bathe in the
    river.
     They should not wash utensils into the river water.
     They should not wash their animals into the river water.
     The industrial waste and and sewage should not be
    disposed into the water.
    4.Is the water from the sea is drinable?Why?
     No,the water from the sea is not fit to drink.Because it is
    saline in nature.
    5.Will there be same amount of water in the ponds or rivers
    during the rainy season?

     No,the amount of water is not same throughout the


    year.In the rainy season water level gets higher and in the
    summer season the level gets lower.
    6.What are The different Kinds of water animals found
    there?

     Ans has been discussed in classwork.


    7.what are the different kinds of birds that come here?
    Swan,crow,house parrot,eagle,kingfisher,shorebirds, are the
    kinds of birds that come here.
    8.How would you know if the water is dirty?If the water
    looks clean,can you be sure that it is alright to drink that
    water?Discuss.

     If the water is dirty it looks muddy and gives a fetid


    smell.Even if the water looks clean,it is not safe to drink
    that as it may contain bacteria and germs.
